Default Exercise Ball

I recently got an exercise ball from a friend of min eand am wondering if any of you have found exercises that you do on them that really seem to get results and are worthwhile. I am busy during the week most days so I try to maximize my workout as much as possible. Any DVDs maybe you would suggest?

I work with a chart that came with my exercise ball. You can see it HERE

I can get this done in 20-25 minutes, and it has DEFINITELY made a difference in my core muscles and the other muscles in my body as well. It hits all major muscle groups and is a great allover tone.

I use this site for some ball exercises:

Also try sitting on the ball while watching TV or working on the computer.

I have a little pocket size book that I follow for using weights with the ball as well as other exercises.

I know I've said it on many other threads... but I absolutely love Suzanne Deason's DVD's. I have a weightloss on the ball dvd and another sampler dvd of hers that shows parts of several dvd workouts.

She is amazing and I am seeing great results by using her dvd's.. not to mention they are fun.

Hey Jayde! Where do you get your Suzanne Deason DVDs? I checked out a couple places and havn't had much luck, I'd prefer to not buy it online.

Hi Pink

Her sampler dvd came with the exercise ball. Some Gaiam kit.. the weighloss and ball dvd was at Best Buy.

I want more of her dvd's but I've looked everywhere.. I might have to do it online. Sports authority used to have lots of dvd's but when I went there they said they don't carry dvd's anymore because they weren't selling. (This Sports Authority is right next door to Best Buy )

If you find a store let me know.. I will do the same.

Thanks! I'll be out and about again Saturday running errands I'll stop by best buy and a few other places to check. I looked around online and they look like great DVDs!

Any luck, Pink?

I walked to nearly every store I could think of yesterday. Best Buy had some new exercise dvd's in and some by Suzanne. The Exercise Ball one and the Pilates. SCORE! So I bought the Pilates for Weightloss. I really really want her Yoga for Weightloss dvd so I was disappointed not to see it.

I'll tell you what stores NOT to bother with

Walmart (horrible store anyway)
Target
Circuit City

Well, I'm off in a few moments to try out my newest dvd.

I use to love my exercise ball - but had a fluke accident when DF FINALLY decided to add air to it with his air compressor. He didn't tell me and I stretched out backwards over the thing only to realize as I was falling off that it was now too big and didn't balance the same way anymore!!! I fell off and was somehow wedged between the ball and the entertainment center!! Well, THEN, things on the EC started falling on me!! Books, videos, junk that was sitting up there. As the TV was rocking back and forth I remember thinking "what do I do if it falls? do I get out of the way, or catch it? Will it hurt me? Why can't I move anyway???? How does a BALL hold you in place?" Thankfully the TV didn't fall. As I started to get up I realized my left leg was numb. I work for a doc and gave him a call. He met me the next morning - leg still a good bit numb. I found out I'd bulged 3-4 of my lumbar disks!!

he made me pop the ball!!! I still miss it but at the moment I'm still a clutz so it's probably safer that I don't have one

Little grasshopper, I am sorry to hear about your accident with the ball. So how are you now? Fully recovered? If that had been me, my husband would have made me pop the ball.. ah.. wait.. he would have popped it himself no questions asked.

When I first bought it, I read some posts about small children always wanting to play with it and didn't see why that was a problem.. then my own children (18 and 21) started "playing" with it.. yup.. I now know the problem! The youngest actually stood upright on it! I couldn't even say anything I was so shocked. If he had fallen over he would have gone right through the glass doors.

I use the ball in a room that has a lot of space and not much of anything else. I've come to really come to like the workouts and feel comfortable with the ball. ... unless of course my son decides to get it out to sit on while he watches tv..

When he goes away to college, I won't worry about this house not being "child proof".
