Three Rules of Golf
Yesterday, I did my first round of golf in about 2 years. Just 9 holes walking. I did a lot better than I thought I would. I'm not great by any means (never have been), but I wasn't horrible, either.
First time out reminded me of a few Golfing Rules. I share them with you now: Rule 1: Remember to bring your cart! I had to borrow a pullcart from the course and it rolled awkwardly. Rule 2: Remember to bring your drink!I left mine in the car and by the time I remembered it, I was already on the 2nd hole. By the 3rd hole I was parched. and, oh man, I really felt it by the 7th hole. Rule 3: If it's over 50 degrees out, for the love of pete, DON'T WEAR A SWEATER!!!By the 3rd hole, when I was already parched, I was so tempted to just rip off the sweater, but I figured that would be frowned upon... so I suffered through. Oh, by the way, 9 holes walking came out to about 6,500 steps on the pedometer. And it was sort of interval, since I was walking up and down little hills. It wasn't truly "cardio", since my walking spurts only lasted about 30-45 seconds each. Still, not bad!Anyway, I had fun and I'm hoping to do much more golfing this year! Maybe by the end of the year, I'll be back to walking a full 18! With my own pullcart, a big bottle of water and a polo shirt! |
Guess I'm the only golfer in the group... oh well...

Hi Lena! I've missed you! I only golf about 2 or 3 times a year. I like it about that much :) But it is fun to go with friends and it is a good walk!
