I've heard nothing but rave reviews regarding the Firm...therefore...I bought the newest "transfirmer system" from qvc.com. It looks like it's going to be really,really good!!! Tomorrow is START day :) ....I'll let you know how it's going...k?

Yep, I do the firm everyday. I have the transfirmer system and about 15 of their dvd's and rotate them daily.

I have the oldest Firm videos. They are oldies but goodies. They're the videos I keep coming back to because they're such an awesome workout. I love the way they combine aerobics with weight-training, the moves are simple to learn but very effective, the instructions are clear and easy to keep up with, and the production values are superb.

My only warning is that they can be a little hard on the knees if you have pre-existing knee problems, as I do. I work around this by using a much shorter step than they show, and by substituting knee-lifts for the lunges and plies.

Smoo: What fabulous photos!!! I'm new to exercise but bought The Firm set at a consignment store yesterday. I'll give it a try tonight or work my way up to it. Thanks for posting the info.

Are these the old, old videos you are talking about. Where they use wooden steps and lots of the gals have on leotards and leg warmers and the guys have on belts? My brothers girlfriend (she's all of 18 and these were probably made when she was a toddler!) gave me about 4 of them a while back and I cannot get past the outfits to actually do the workouts.:^: Plus I do not have a bench. Maybe I'll have to just get over my hangups and do them.:D

I found my first attempt at doing The Firm was really hard. The steps changed too quickly for me and I couldn't pause the DVD. The 14" step was too high for me also. I think I'll do the walking workouts for a while first and try it again in a month or two.

smoo, i have to say, i just looked at your photos and you are amazing. you are an inspiration. i just ordered one of The Firm's dvds for myself. i am getting the upper body. meant to get the ab one but this one will be a good one to start with too.

I was searching for some before/after pics of real people who use the Firm - you are an AWESOME inspiration!! I have done them for two days now, and man oh man I am sore. But after seeing your pictures I think tonight I will go put in the aerobic one and get at it! I want to see those type of results :)
