Well, yesterday wasn't quiiiite what I thought it would be. We didn't stay as long as we normally do since we had other stuff to do yesterday. But between Sea World and the hardware store and mowing the lawn (manual mower, no power!) I managed a grand total of....
9977 steps! Why couldn't I have gone the extra 33? :rofl: I climbed into bed last night, threw the covers over me and checked my pedometer and I'm like "aww man! I don't want to get up now." Close enough :P |
Hehe I so know what you mean, Lydia! Once I get in bed, that's all she wrote (old-timey phrase, I know!). Still, 9,977 is nothing to sneeze at! Great day! Hope you had fun at Sea World!

LOL Lydia... I laughed at your message as I did so well today... but had just a few short of 13,000... so I thought if I walk up to get my mail I can hit 14,000! I got home and I am about 40 steps short... so I am leaving the pedometer on just until I hit the mark LOL! I am not doing much tonight except get dinner (leftovers from my yummy crockpot meal) and crawl into bed with a magazine!!!

I could not believe how well I did today... whew, I walked both breaks and 45 mins at lunch... then up to get my mail when I got home... for a total of 14,193! Our grand total so far is 482,910!!! Still to go = 517,090. Wow we are going to hit 500,000 today probably as several have not reported in!! I am glad we started having the posts every day or as often as people like... it is more fun when we are racking them up all the time. So everyone please go ahead and post whenever you want. And thanks for keeping your own overall totals too and posting them so I can double check myself!! |
14,000 steps, cheese and crackers! That's amazing, honestly. The most steps I've gone so far was on the 2nd of this month when I did the 11k. You're doing so great, Dance. You're honestly my biggest inspiration here on the boards.
I was thinking about going for a walk tonight, but I'm not feeling good all of a sudden. I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't have eaten that bagel for dinner :( I'm probably going to go to bed early because of it, but I promise to report my steps first-thing in the morning. Goodnight everyone! |
Thanks Lydia. Sometimes my "ambition" can become my undoing LOL. I tend to get totally into it and then not keep up the pace and give up! But this time I am determined to stick with it!!! Having to come here and report helps LOL. It is kind of disgusting because I KNOW I walked a LOT farther on Saturday and my old ped only gave me 9500 steps but oh well! :)

I know what you mean. I've had the same problem in the past, but this time... this time is completely different. I've stuck to my plan (more or less) for 3 months now, which is longer than I've ever stuck to a plan before. The thing is, I KNOW that I'll be able to keep this up forever. It's gotten to the point where it isn't even really "hard' for me now. It's nearly become second-nature to me in just 3 months! It's great to be able to come here to you all and lay down my burdens. I think my family's noticing that I'm a bit less crabby now :lol:
Tummy's still not feeling great this morning. I think I'm going to take it easy as far as food goes... probably make today a veggie day. A veggie day, for me, is where I eat only vegetables and fruits until 5pm, then I can resume normal eating. I do it about once a month when I'm not feeling well, and I tend to feel SO much better the next day. Also, if it doesn't start raining by the time I'm ready, I'm going to head for a walk around the neighborhood. We've been living here for a week now, but I still haven't gone further than the mailbox (around the corner)! So I need to get out there and walk walk walk :running: Oh, and before I forget... haha. My steps for yesterday totalled 4249! Not bad considering I did almost nothing except mow the lawn yesterday :p |

One fortunate thing for me I guess... I PREFER walking in the rain and even at work I go out walking with the rain coming down LOL My total today is 12,301... it is only 3:45 but I am home and don't plan to do a whole lot more LOL. My grand total is 177,266. Team total so far is 513,174! Hey, we did it... we are over halfway!!! Yay. Still to go is 486,826. |
Oy, I was so lazy yesterday. I only went 3129 steps! I'm disappointed in myself. I didn't even go for the walk, I just lazed around the house all day. Argh! *hits herself*

I did 13162 yesterday for a total of 99776 for March! Not looking good for today, though. I spent 2.5 hours at the Dr.s office this morning! I had a 10:30 appointment and didn't get taken back until after 11:30. Then I sat around between the nurse's questions and the Dr. coming in! I didn't get home until 12:45! Needless to say, I haven't done much walking today at all. I WILL go do some kind of WATP tape, but I'm not expecting to break 10000 today : ( Michele : ) |

Yesterday I did a bit better. 6722 steps. Unfortunately, most of my steps were made while searching for one of our birds that escaped :( I had no luck finding her. We've had her for more than 10 years now. Quite sad.

Yesterday (Thursday) was not a good day. Only 5003 steps (grand total of 104779). Today is turning out to be not much better. Both days I spent over 2 hours (each day) waiting for appointments. Tomorrow I will have much of the day to myself, so I will do some serious exercising to bump up my step numbers!

Almost made it to 10000 yesterday. Had errands much of the day and then we hosted DS's birthday party at the locazl skating rink last night.
3/10: 9448 steps, which brings my total to 114,227 steps for March! Today will be a good day. Everyone's gone for much of it, so I will put in some serious mileage (and hopefully get the house tidied up before I go back to work on Monday)! Have a great weekend! Michele :wave: |

I show you started with 32,556 and then added for the next week 59,348. After that your totals submitted are: 6,856 10,355 10,199 11,383 8,898 1,792 2,008 10,526 10,684 16,868 10,748 That comes out to 192,221. Please help me figure out where the error is. I went back through the entire thread and checked what you said and checked it against my database and even recopied your steps into a new page and added again and still get the same. LOL but I AM horrid at math!! But can usually do just fine with Excel. |

And LOL your totals match mine. The way MY overall totals read we are at 605,370! WOW do you BELIEVE we have done 600,000 steps!!! Still to go = 394,630 LOL but if Lena is correct about her totals we might have to do a few extra steps to make up for my math. :) |
Yesterday was a bit more laid-back for me (again), but I did get in a 40-minute workouts, so it helped bounce my total up :D 5362 steps for yesterday.

Hmmm not sure where I missed, but your number is closer to right than mine was, Dance. I went back and totalled and re-totalled. Through Thursday, March 9, I contributed 192,039. You had 192,221 because the 16k day was 16,686, not 16,868.
I haven't a clue what I missed to only come up with 177K total :lol:. In any event, thanks for catching my error, Dance! Sorry for the confusion. :o My contribution for yesterday, March 10 is 8,729, bringing my (newly corrected) total to 200,768. |

Well, well, well... Saturdays and Sundays are *supposed* to be my Slacker Days, right? So, what on earth came over me yesterday?
The weather just beckoned me to come outside. I strapped on the IPod and ended up taking a 45 minute walk around the sub-division. And, I found out my outside pace is faster than my normal treadmill pace. Songs that are usually quite fine to treadmill to were somewhat too slow for outside. So I had to kick it up a notch and find the really hard-thumpin' ones to walk to. Oh, yes, the arms and legs were pumpin'! Remember last Saturday's pathetic number (1,792). Well, yesterday was much higher! 8,725. Not a 10K day but VERY good for me for a weekend! I'm happy with it! Total contribution from me (through March 11) = 209,493. Who knows what today will bring? ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Great job, Lydia! 5,000+ steps for a laid-back day is wonderful! Congratulations, Dance, for hitting 200K+!!! You know, I could've sworn that I posted in here this morning. Like, I can almost remember typing stuff up... but I didn't! :crazy:
Yesterday was very very lazy. That is until I went for a walk. For 26 minutes. I decided to explore the neighborhood, see how other people take care of their lawns. Coincidentally, I saw a very beautiful lawn with a GORGEOUS flowering tree somewhere in this neighborhood. I sort of got lost, so I don't know where though :o . In that 26 minutes, I took 2859 aerobic steps and went a total of 1.04 miles. Mind, I'm a shorty (5'1"), so that's why I took so many steps and went hardly anywhere, hahaha. So my total for yesterday was 4773 with more than half of the steps being aerobic. Not bad for a Saturday! My total so far is 68,334 steps. 21.95 miles. I feel like a wimp compared to you all :p Edit: Oh, and I must keep in mind NOT to wear flip-flops the next time I decide to go for a walk. I got horrible blisters and both of my feet! I decided (at my husband's encouragement) to do an Excel spreadsheet to see how many steps I have taken in 2006. WOW!!! 745895 as of March 11!!! I am SOOOOO psyched! I might even get to a MILLION before Easter! Aiming for 10000 steps a day pays off!
