In Home Essentials

Ok ladies....quick question. This past month I've gotten back to really focusing on getting rid of this excess weight I've been carrying around. The last time I was this heavy, I pulled my butt to the gym, got a trainer, and was very sucessful. This time, however, I have absolutely no motivation to go to the gym. I try to walk regularly, but I'd also like to do some sculpting and weight training.
So my question is...What would be your essentials for doing an in-home work out? I've thought about band and balls and weights, but I really wouldn't know where to start. Anyone want to help and steer me in the right direction?

Thanks so much!!!!

First of all, how much room do you have for machines? And how much are you looking to spend?

I currently live in an apartment, so I'm not looking for any sort of machine. I want transportable, storable equipment.

get a variety of dumbbells and if you have room a stability ball. I also recommend 1 or 2 yoga bricks and a yoga mat. The brick can help engage the inner thighs (pilates moves, squats, etc)and target tranverse abs (during lower ab work,) isolates one side of the body during pushups (the hand elevated on the brick will not be able to extend as long, and will get a deeper stretch at the bottom of the move heloing with range of motion in the shoulder/arm ara) as well as help you with postures in yoga and pilates. The mat is helpful so slipping does not happen with the moves. If the bricks and mat are not an option for you, stick with the dumbbells.
