For so long I would workout and when I started to "feel something" I'd stop ! But my friend and I have started working out together and we push each other to keep going even though we're "feeling the burn" ! So now I realize why I haven't been losing weight even though I was working out for an hour because i wasn't sweating or pushing my body.
This is our second week now and we're 45 minutes a day for 6 days a week, and I have more energy and have already lost 2lbs. and 3 inches overall!! So though people haven't noticed yet that I've lost weight, they do notice I feel better and have more energy.
one thing that ya'll might want to try is cardio coach (www.cardiocoach.com) you can download the programs or order the CDs and listen to them while you work on machines. He leads you through intervals of hills, sprints, and steady states. It works well for busting through plateaus. Even if you don't get it he has a lot of great info on his site.
