Question How often do you workout?

How often do you workout? I've heard that you should get in at least 30 minutes a day of cardio everyday But im just curious what everyone sticks to? I took 2 day's off of a full 2 weeks straight of working out daily and I lost 4lbs to my surprise, So that's my question do you take day's off or do you workout daily no matter what? And if you do it everyday how on earth do you keep the motivation!
Sorry for all the questions, Just had to know what everyone's doing

I usually try to aim for cardio 3-6x/wk for 30-60 minutes, your SUPPOSED to take 1-2 days off, to let your body rest and recoperate, strength training I try to do 2-3x/wk full body.

I do 6 days per week 30-60 minutes of cardio. At least 3 days per week of weights. I try and do different things, to cross train. I've been on that routine for around 5 years. Works for me.

I workout out at Curves Monday, Wednesday, & Friday for 30 minutes.

Then on Tuesdays & Saturdays I do cardio for 30 minutes.

I usually take Thursdays & Sundays off.

I do cardio 5-6 times a week, weights twice a week, yoga once a week and pilates twice a week... glad you brought this up cause what I did yesterday and am thinking about doing more often is 30 mins of cardio in the AM and 30 mins of cardio in the PM... easier for me than doing 60 mins especially since I'm so pressed for time in the AM... thinking that once I get down to my "ideal weight" I can just do it once a day... anyone else do anything similar?

I workout 5-6 times a week (at least an hour each day). I usually take my day off on Saturday.

I have never tried either and starting to wonder if i should give it a try, are either of these good for weight loss or just maintaining? im clueless. Also for those who work out an hour everyday do you do one hour straight or do you break it up through out the day? thanks for all the response's i love seeing what everyone's up to!

Sarah,
I do 30 minutes in the AM and then 30 in the PM of cardio. I find that if I do anything over 30 in the morning it makes me rush and I hate feeling that way right before I have to get to work. Of course sometimes I don't do the PM 30 minutes because I get lazy but I figure at least I got 30 minutes in from the morning workout! I try to workout 5 to 6 days a week but I make sure I at least have 1 day off. Otherwise I burn out quickly!

Right now, I'm aiming for 2 hrs of exercise every week. I'm hoping to work it up to doing 5-6 hours a week, but baby steps are a must at this point!

I work out 4 times a week. I am trying to work up to 5 times a week but I just have so much going on right now. I think if I tried to add another day I would end up giving up altogether. Knowing myself...it is best to wait to add that 5th day. By May I should be able to add another day. I generally exercise on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. A hour each time. I think it is really important to take breaks otherwise you will burn yourself out and you have to be realistic and ask yourself will I be able to keep this up for the rest of my life?

I exercise everyday. I do 30 minutes of cardio each day (15 in the a.m. and 15 in the p.m.) I lift weights for 30 – 45 minutes every other day. On the days I don’t lift weights, I do 45 minutes of yoga.

For me, yoga is a series of controlled stretches and conscious deep breathing. The breathing boosts oxygen in my blood and increases my lung capacity. The stretches increase stamina / endurance and have had some minor strength benefits. Overall, the type of yoga I do is not really for weight loss or maintenance. Rather, its about flexibility and balance; two things that young people often take for granted and older folks often wish they had.

Great bit of information julie thanks!, I am going to look into yoga because im an asthmatic and maybe it would help open up my lungs a bit. I wonder though if you split up your hour through out the day are you still getting the same benifit's if you were to keep your heart rate up for an hour straight? i've been doing 30 in the am and 30 in the pm but wondering if it's as effective anyone know? you guy's are awesome keep up the great work! - Kim
