I thought it would help...

I thought if I exercised and ate good stuff, that I would feel energetic and happy. That worked well the first couple of weeks, but now in week 3, I don't know what my problem is. Yesterday I managed to do an hour on the treadmill and work up a great sweat for 400+ calories so I went to bed without guilt, but today again.. I was so tired, my 3 year old giving me such a headache.. I took an hour long nap on the couch. I don't feel like eating at all.

AF is here... does that have anything to do with it? Maybe the fact that my husband weighed himself in at an 11 lb. loss this AM without doing any exercise, in the same amount of time as me - pissed me off. :?:

I have to stop looking for an overnight success with my new way of eating.. huh. I just feel so sluggish the past couple of days - and not wanting to eat at ALL. I'm afraid I will bring my metabolism to a grinding halt! :(

First of all, it's cold season, so that may be what has you feeling off. Make sure you keep exercising, you're immune system will take a nosedive if you stop! (This is the reason they tell athletes to take ecchinacea and vitamin c when they are tapering before a big event) You will also feel better if you work out even when you don't feel like it (the endorphin rush really does help).

Secondly, you've been working out and generating muscle, which weighs more than fat. Your husband may have lost weight, but he isn't creating the muscle mass that is key to long term loss and maintenance. I'm sure you are doing a wonderful job, and you really should be able to see the effects soon! This how great you'll look when you've lost the weight and are nice and toned! You can do this, and it really is worth the effort!

swingchick.. you're so right...

I think I will walk on the treadmill even if it is not at my normal pace..and even if only for 250 calories or so. It's better than nothing right?

you might not be eating enough. If you are feeling really sluggish take a day off (I try to never take more than one day a week off) make sure you are eating LOTs of veggies, as many as you can stand (except potatoes) and have them raw or steamed.

And drink lots of water most headaches are caused by dehydration.

If you have been inactive for a long time and you are suddenly working out it is going to shock your body so take it slow. And don't worry about your husband, its harder for women to lose than men. Think of it like dog years, for every 1 lbs you take off that is like him taking off seven!
