I have a question?
so I started going to the gym daily doing 30-50 min of cardio and then this circut of machines that my gym has. the first week this was fine but now Iam looking to estalish a better rutine, i dont think i can keep doing cardio and weights daily becouse by the end of the day iam extremly tired and tempted to sleep in, i think iam doing to much to soon any way, i have a full gym and was looking for suggestions on some kind of rutine to establish i also want to start using free weights and not relay so much on the machines does any body have suggestions?

I try and follow a rotation where I do cardio either 30 or 60 minutes a day. 30 if I add weight training which I usually do 2 or 3 times a week for 30 minutes. To learn how to use free weight correctly you could join a body pump class if they offer it or check out a magazine like "Women's Health" the book "Body for life" or this website http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/displayarticle.php?aid=41 has a lot of great info. Also, try and add an active rest day in the mix. This is a day where you only do light cardio (walking the dog) and stretching.
Good luck, remember to much can lead to burnout or boredom so make sure you aren't stressing your body. |
I have a similar plan to fikustrees. I do weight training 2 days one week, three days the next. I change up my routine every six weeks. I do a long session (about an hour) of cardio on non weight days, and then do short cardio on weight training days, the length of which varies. I then have one day of rest. Added to this are three swims per week of about 40 lengths (3/4 mile) each, only coz I love swimming!!!!
Rest days are really important make sure you have one or two. I would have two, but I have a totally sit on your bum all day job, so I feel I need to be more active than if I had a more active job. If that makes sense! |
thank you for the wounderful advice i think Ill do 3day-2day swap week to week and do some cardio thoes day but not too much and right now i have 2 days off, and i have a dog so ill make sure that iamthe one that walks her on my days off. thanks i feel like i have some direction now
