Energy and Exercise
Hey guys
So i just started a new workout routine and I know a lot of people say that they get more energy if they work out. Honestly, i havent had that happen to me, if anything i think i feel the need to sleep more than i did before i started working out which is really lame. Does anyone else have this happen to them? My workout routine is 30 min on the elliptical 4 times a week doing alternating legs and arms and the yoga booty ballet DVD 3 times a week. |

I had also noticed that with the first week or two of using my XMas gift of an elliptical machine... but I've been using it every day since the day I got it (Dec 27th) and now I find I get a real burst of energy. Maybe it just takes some getting used to?

Yes when I started my workouts in the beginning of this month I was tired for the first week in a half...but now 3 weeks into it..I have so much energy, which is good because I go to work at 6:00am and I feel like its 10:00am!!

Energy
Same here. At first my body wasn't used to the demand I put on it, so I went to bed early most nights. But later, I feel energized during the day where as before, I always felt really sleepy around 3pm.

Definately when you first start you feel blah! I know I totally did! I didn't have the energy like everyone was saying. Now, 2 months doing it straight I get big bursts of energy and doing exercise feels great! I think it just takes time for your body to recognize and work that it's good stuff happening!

when I first started excersising I was tired a lot but now I have more energy than I have ever had!
|
I don't necessarily feel tired -- nor do I have oodles of energy. I find that I am quite sore. I don't believe I'm over doing it. I just think it's my muscles whining that I'm actually using them for a change!

I have more energy for sure - only after 2 weeks of exercising every day but 1! I fall asleep much easier and wake up feeling refreshed - which is amazing in and of itself since I'm still up feeding a baby at least 2 times a night!!! I'm very happy with this result! It is addictive.

Make sure you're getting enough protein throughout the day. It will help your muscles recover. Plus, a lot of people (me included!) get very sleepy if they're eating too many carbs. Try having a protein-based snack within one hour of your workout -- cottage cheese, protein shake, etc. Maybe that will help. :)

I haven't been able to get up early enough to do my exercises in the morning, so I shifted to doing them after work---first few nights I woke up with sore muscles, but I also notice I had a better sleep (would be even more restful if the alarm clock didn't go off :) )
|
Yeah, I have a love/hate relationship with my alarm clock, too.
|
So normally on the days I run, I wake just before my alarm clock goes off. But today I snoozed once and slept through the rest. Your body tells you when you've over worked it and will adjust.
|
Ok good- that makes me feel a LOT better because i was a little bit worried. i'll keep with it and i cant wait until the tireds go away!
|
I have been exercising nearly every day for two weeks now, and I am still struggling with low energy. I am finding out that I can walk faster and for longer distances now, I have even ran a few times which is a big thing for me. I know the energy will come eventually, but waiting for it stinks!
