Argh!
I'm new here and wanted to make my first post a nice introduction, but I had an immediate question to ask. I just started doing steps again after not doing them for 2 years. My old trainer, who was a football coach too :dizzy: taught me them. Maybe I was pushing too hard, but after my 4th set I suddenly felt sick and had to run to the bathroom and threw everything up. All I had was water so far, so that's all that came up.
Should I stop for the day or should I just take a break and continue? Sorry for the gross first post, but I wasn't sure what to do. My dad said I should stop, but he's a dad :D |
There is a thing called "effluvia" that makes you feel/be sick when you exercise. It happens when you push yourself hard.
It's up to you weather you feel like continuing, but to prevent further outbreaks I would build up your workout gradually. |
You were probably working too hard. Your exertion level should be so that you can talk during exercise. That's a rough way of measuring it. The other way is to monitor your heart rate with a Polar or equivalent heart rate monitor made specifically for that reason. Also, you said you only had water before exercising, you need a source of energy as well (ie something to eat).
