Hello All,

I love the Toney little Gazelle. I have 2 one with restance and one with out. Yes it does work and good for knee problems. I used to weight 260 pounds and I lost 90 pounds in one year. I did it 5 days a week started out slow and worked my self to 5 miles a day. It is the best thing I have ever bought. Good luck.

I must be overdoing it then by doing 1 1/2 hours a day on it

mahtha 09-27-2005 11:41 AM

1 1/2 hours a day, whitedove33? You must have legs of steel! I'm wiped after 40 minutes and find myself wobbling off to get my water bottle when I'm done. Good for you!

vanessa6295 09-27-2005 09:24 PM

I wobble after 40 minutes too mahtha :) lol yah on my personal trainer video 30 mins is expert, so thats all i usually try to do.

I've been thinking about trying this... but don't have much room for a piece of equipment at home. Does it fold up? Could it fit beneath my couch - or maybe somewhere else? If I stored it upstairs (or on the landing to the basement or in the utility room or whereever), how hard would it be to bring down when I want to use it?

Thanks (in advance) for your thoughts...

vanessa6295 09-28-2005 06:43 PM

yes it folds up, you could slide it underneath something or lean it against a wall, i think if you wanted to bring it down all the time it would be a pain

carla49 09-29-2005 01:51 AM

I've just ordered a Gazelle. The Shopping Channel had them on at $199 Can ($50 off the regular price), and I fell for it. I'll probably find one next week at half the price! If it is too heavy or bulky to fold and store, I'll keep it at your place, okay Vanessa?

~whitedove33~ 09-29-2005 11:45 AM

I love mine...

KnCmamma 10-01-2005 11:15 PM

For those of you that have the Gazelle, do you have one with resistance or the one without?

Will the one without resistance help one to get fit and lose weight?

~whitedove33~ 10-02-2005 12:01 AM

mine does not have the power pistons and I am losing weight...but I do an hour and a half a day on it...without fail

I love mine, but ......

I purchased the Gazelle over a year ago, but unfortunately between relocating and starting a new job, I haven't been able to utilize it as much as I would like. I love using it, but find that I have one problem with it. For some reason, after about 10 minutes on the machine, my feet starts burning, and I have to get off for a few minutes. I have purchased 3 different pairs of sneakers in hopes that since they all have good cushion, that it would solve the problem.

Have any of you experienced this problem, and if so, what were you able to do about it? I really do love the machine & want to use it as much as possible, but find myself not doing it as much because of this problem.

Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks in advance for your help....

Thanks for the replies above: I bought one last Friday - the cheap one, at a local discount store, for $99. At first, I tried my patented technique for bringing heavy "assembly required" packages up the hill & into the house: opening the box and bringing the components in piece by piece, but that didn't work because of the way the Gazelle was packaged, so I had to lug the heavy, awkward box up the steps and into the house, having already cut the plastic ties and tape that kept it together. Ooops!

It was easy enough to assemble, although the "extra" parts ("we've improved your Gazelle!") designed to keep the swing arms from swinging too far don't fit very well. Unfortunately, the machine won't fit beneath my couch, as I was hoping, and I was really unhappy with it, until I figured out (duh!) how to snap the foot-platforms on to the swing arms. You're right: I can't bring it up and downstairs, but it does fit on the landing heading to my basement, so I can keep it out of sight.

I did read Consumer Reports before buying the machine. They weren't too impressed, but said that you could get a decent cardio workout. I don't have resistence bands...

QueenB2: I have had the machine for just a few days and have had the same issue. Thus far, I've been able to get through the initial episode by varying my position and posture on the machine, though, like you, I'm interested in any other solutions.

Mnemosyne,

Thanks so much for responding. I finally called a podiatrist yesterday & have an appointment in a couple of weeks. I think I may have the plantar faciistis (sp) that I read about on the message boards.

Hope yours gets better....Take care & good luck!
