Toning everyday??

I was just wondering is it ok to do light toning everyday? I have a DVD called 'Crunch: Burn and Firm Pilates' and they use light weights for added toning throughout the workout, I know your supposed to give your muscles a day of rest but will it hurt if I do some exercises everday like say crunches, lunges, squats, bicep curls etc??

Your body does need a break from weight training because on your day off weights this is when you are building actual muscles... Could you do some sort of cardio on alternate days?

Here are some sites with good advise...

Thanks for the links, I'm gonna check them right now!

So if I use weights I need to let my muscles rest, now what if I do crunches, lunges etc. a few exercises that don't use weights like every night before bed? Is that ok, or should I only do that every other day as well, like at the same time I do other toning/strength exercises with weights?

Once upon a time they said it was ok to do crunches daily, but the new rule is to let them rest too...

Ok..I signed out the book 'Scuplt your body with balls and bands' by Denise Austin from the library, and in it she says to do the 12 minute routine everyday mon-sat, shouldn't you rest your muscles then too!?? This is confusinig lol :?:

I know it's confusing  ...I just read a review of it and she's using balls and bands they are not heavy weights, they also say it's a Pilates book, it can be done daily ... Try it though, if it's too much take a day break and resume the next day... Be creative  Do the workout one day and walk the next, whatever meets your fancy....
