Exercise Accountability Thread # 11 Jun 20-26

Walked a mile at lunch today. Hopefully can fit at least 30-40 more minutes of cardio in this evening.

What is everyone else doing?

Tiki.

I rode my bike to and from work today for a total of 34.4 miles. The ride in was fabulous, saw the sun coming up, mist over the cornfields. It was great. The ride home wasn't as much fun, it was over 80 degrees - but it was worth it. I can't do it everyday because it is very time consuming, but I think I will try it again on Friday.

Tiki thanks for starting the weekly exercise accountability thread, this is the first time I get near a computer today!

Melissa that's a heck of a ride to and from work! :high:

Today I did legs :strong:

4rabbit 06-21-2005 05:11 AM

Ran 5 kms on the treadmill yesterday.
Try out power yoga dvd today

tikanique 06-21-2005 09:27 AM

WOW Sherpa!! That is a great ride - and the view you described was beautiful.

Last night, rode my bike with DD for about 40 minutes.

Your welcome my Queen!

Thanks Ilene and tikanique, it was a fabulous ride. I was in bed by 9:30pm though! :tired: I wish I could do it every day. I was exhausted this morning so I skipped the gym. I did my 30 minute lunch time bike ride and took it a little easy. It is 84 degrees out there today. I will stop at the gym on my way home and fit in about 25 minutes of strength training for my legs.

4rabbit 06-22-2005 06:03 AM

Ran 7.2 kms on the treadmill. it is HOT here !!

cacmsc 06-22-2005 06:53 AM

Thanks for starting this thread I need to have something like this to get myself accountable. I have been gardening and swimming but not to the gym lately. So far I have maintained my previous loss but want to move the numbers down a bit. So I am joining in and off to the gym today. I will do a 50 min . workout at least. Ck in again soon!

Reg4242 06-22-2005 07:59 AM

Hi all:
This is my first post here but I am in need of accountablity:
My goal is to workout M-F in the AM. My consequence is no computer fun till I am done, so if I don't post you'll know I didn't meet my goal.

sherpamelissa 06-22-2005 08:36 AM

Good morning! I did 25 minutes of strength training on my upper body this morning. I will ride my bike for about 30 minutes at lunch too.

3fcuser1058250 06-22-2005 08:52 AM

Today it's chest/triceps and maybe, time permitting, 5k run...

Jenaya 06-22-2005 11:03 AM

Hi, I hope it is okay if I jump in. I did 35 minutes of kick boxing this morning and 20 minutes upper body weights followed by 20 minutes of tai chi. I am now going to hop on my vacuum and get the housework done (although, that probably doesn't count as exercise, just unpaid, thankless perpetual tasks that Moms have to do). Wow on the 34.4 mile ride!!

tikanique 06-22-2005 12:32 PM

Shoulders this AM. Trying for some cardio or Pilates this evening.

Tiki.

Gym tonight. I'm taking Ilene's advice from another thread and even though I know I won't feel like :tread: (I never really do) I'll start off with some and get into the groove of it. I know this is all in my head and I need to trick myself sometimes!

squiggly 06-22-2005 02:59 PM

I did 15 minutes on my elliptical. I just got in on Sunday and started using it on Monday. I did 30 minutes on Monday in increments and I'm still sore from it. I did 15 minutes yesterday and today and will work gradually up to 30. I am still doing the 15 minutes in increments. I'm going to try to do 15 minutes straight through tomorrow. I'm hoping to start shooting for 30 on Saturday. I would love to do it in 2-15minute intervals.

4rabbit 06-23-2005 06:21 AM

Ran 7 kms on the treadmill.
Gina ! Good to see you are still around. If you grab my hand I'll haul you on the wagon.

Reg4242 06-23-2005 06:39 PM

I did my routine, so I could post!!!!

3fcuser1058250 06-23-2005 07:23 PM

Pat -- I agree 1000%, it's a total head game on some days!!

Gina -- We'll all help you get back on the wagon!! :bravo: for doing your routine because you had to post !! It's a positive step....

I was up at 5am to run from 6 to 6:40 did 5.6k.... I didn't want to get caught in the heat of this afternoon... I was surprised at how well it went and at how much I enjoyed it  .... All is good in Ilene Land ...

sherpamelissa 06-23-2005 10:41 PM

I played hooky from work today, so that means no gym. But I did ride my bike for about 35/40 minutes with my daughter on the back. I also took a 15 minute walk around the block while carrying a 33lb dead weight (the aforementioned daughter).

4rabbit 06-24-2005 05:00 AM

I started lifting again today. R elbow is still holding up after UBW. Also i ran 3.3 kms as cardio.

Gina, glad you made it yesterday !!. Keep it up for today !!!

lunameow 06-24-2005 09:09 AM

Two and a half miles on my first walk! Go me, go me! *happy dance*

Yah, it's not much. But wow, I didn't think I'd be able to manage even a quarter mile in the heat. Oh, and it's a nice, hilly park. Lots of steep inclines. Yay for muscle tone!

And yay for the squirrels and ducks that made it at least a little worthwhile. :D

sherpamelissa 06-24-2005 11:30 AM

Great job everybody! :cp:

I did 1/2 hour on the treadmill this morning, 5 minute walk/5 minute jog. I will not bike at lunch today because it will be 98 out today with a heat index about 100 and we don't have showers at work. :o

Smoo 06-24-2005 01:16 PM

I did the firm cardio sculpt this morning, and just got home from a 30 min. swim :)

squiggly 06-24-2005 01:21 PM

15 minutes

:cb: :cp: I did 15 minutes straight through on my elliptical. I am so happy. It was the first time I did my whole time straight through without breaking it up into increments.

tikanique 06-24-2005 04:18 PM

Chest, Back, Bis and Tris and 45 minutes on the elliptical!

Tiki

3fcuser1058250 06-24-2005 07:57 PM

lunameow, Shelley and Smoo  Welcome!! Keep up the great work, one day at a time, some days one minute at a time... That's all it takes...

Yay Gina for posting  and working out!

Today I did back and bis for an hour.... it's all good no time for cardio though :(, but tomorrow I will get up early to go run, it's gonna be too hot to run later on ....

tikanique 06-25-2005 08:29 AM

Tae Bo!

4rabbit 06-25-2005 10:05 AM

2.5 kms run on the treadmill. not much, but blame the heatwave !
With this 2.5 km I have reached my weekly goal of 4.5 hrs cardio and 25 kms running. If I lift tomorrow, I have also met my lifting goal. But I don't know in this heat if I will make it.

tikanique 06-26-2005 02:11 PM

Legs, cut the lawn and cut down bushes, grapevines and weeds.

Tiki

3fcuser1058250 06-26-2005 10:02 PM

Ran 12k this morning it was very hot by 8:30 and I walked the last 1.5k.... took me forever to run it too 1h40
