circuit biking

I took a circuit bike class today. I really liked it, but my tush is on fire. How does one manage the seat? I used a gel cover, but it just was NOT enough. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if you can change the seats on the bikes in the classes, but I have an ergonomically correct bike seat on my bike that I use outdoors, it's not 100% perfect but it's much better than just a gel seat or nothing, OUCH !! I hear ya though it hurts!! But with time it gets better...

Thanks, Ilene. I went out and bought one. I haven't used it yet, but plan to tomorrow. That little itty bitty seat is a bit like.......well.......flossing down there!

try padded bike shorts?

On a bike I used to use (in our building gym), I used to take a towel & fold it into a little square about 4 inches thick. Not elegant, but it meant the difference between 20 minutes & an hour!

I ordered the bike shorts with the gel thingie, but that hasn't arrived yet. I am thinking I will do the towel thing as well. Maybe bring a big thick rubber band to keep it in place when I stand up. Hey, I'm not proud!! Thanks for the great ideas.
Suechef.........are you really a suechef? Or are you Sue the Chef?8-) Either way, it sounds fascinating.
