exercises while sick?

Hi! I'm getting over pneumonia and have taken a few days off. Chest feels clearer and feeling much better now. I want to exercise and plan on doing my 20 min pilates dvd, but wondering what other exercises I can do that will burn fat, without major cardio requirements...any suggestions? Oh yeah, just so ya know, I don't own weights otherwise I'd love to do that. Thanks!

A brisk walk or a walk-jog combo always burns some good fat...My first thought was weight training though. You can use cans to start off with if you have nothing else... Resistance bands are good too...

I agree with the brisk walk. I would also suggest just trying whatever you normally do, but don't push yourself. I had bronchitis recently and once I started working out again I got winded VERY quickly. I just modified down and did as much as I could without pushing too hard.

I was thinking of weight lifting too (anything would do, I did some pecs exercises at times with a huge Latin dictionary ). I never got pneumonia, but when I catch a cold, I know I still usually manage to go on with that, even if not lifting as much as I could when in good health, while cardio leaves me completely flat and winded out, as I don't have much stamina when sick. Now, as said, I have no idea of how exactly one feels after a pneumonia, so if this seems hard for you, don't do it :)

Thanks for the suggestions! I will try the cans, or something similiar, like a heavy book, to do some circuit training, including brisk walks on my TM, so I don't stress my lungs too much. Thanks again, I love this site! :)

Kery (and Rochelle too, of course) Just go for that mens sana in corpore sano! Or perhaps just the corpore sano bit (can't get the cases right at the moment!)
