pedometers
Recently I've started doing a lot of walking; now that the weather is better, a brisk walk to and from work or down to the grocery store and back hardly feels like exercise. My goal is to walk at least two miles a day, and more if time permits. I've heard that pedometers are useful for tracking mileage, but I have no idea how they work. There are lots of them for sale on e-bay, but I don't know how to tell whether the item I'm looking at is worth the asking price. Can anyone help me out here? What do you look for in a pedometer? And how exactly do they work, anyway? Do you clip them to your ankle?
Thanks for your help! -Iconobabble height: 5'3 high weight: 148 Current weight: 138 Goal: 125 |
We wrote an article on choosing a pedometer, maybe it will help :)
http://www.3fatchicks.com/fitness/pedometers.php I just checked ebay and see several of the model Consumer Reports recommended as a 'best buy', the Omron HJ 112. I might have to bid on one, myself :D |
Thanks! This is really helpful!
