Has anyone used the Bodyglide exercise machine? Rants/raves? Thanks!

Just wondering if this is worth the money. It's on sale now so I thought I'd see what you guys thought. Thanks!

is this an infomercial product?

suemazrn 03-31-2005 02:10 PM

Hi!

Yes, I saw it on TV today. I think it's sold by shopathome.com too.

marbleflys 03-31-2005 02:39 PM

I did a search......and couldn't find it, although I found many other "bodyglide" items that seemed to be condoms, personal lubricants used for swimming and snorkling.....

I've seen this infomercial once or twice, but not lately......

I found something called a Body Trac Glider, it looks like a rowing machine. Is this it?

suemazrn 03-31-2005 10:29 PM

Hi again :)

I think it's just called BodyGlide. It's sort of like the Total Gym, I believe. You can do cardio or resistance training with it. It has cables and the seat slides back and forth. It's on sale so I thought I would purchase it if I could find out more about the quality of this equipment. I was hoping someone had tried this. Thanks.

Suzanne 3FC 03-31-2005 11:39 PM

Since no one knows what it is, then I think it's safe to assume they've not tried it, lol. But if it is like the Total Gym, then it might be worth looking into. The Total Gym was one of the few infomercial fitness machines that Consumer Reports recommended. However, it's not really good for advanced fitness levels, or perhas even intermediate. It's best for beginners, and then you grow into the need for more traditional methods of exercise.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your replies. :)

That is completely different from the thingie informercial I saw......what I saw was kind of like the old Nordic Track ski machine but with poles....

why not just get a Total Gym? (they are pretty cheap now too)

suemazrn 04-01-2005 02:07 PM

Are they really cheap???

I didn't think they were but I'll try to find the website. Thanks.

suemazrn 04-01-2005 02:18 PM

Oh well, too pricy for me. :(

It's about $1,600. :( I was hoping for something $150 or less. Wishful thinking I guess. I'll be sticking to my exercise videos for now.

marbleflys 04-01-2005 02:57 PM

check on QVC's website....my neighbor got hers for about 200-250.....(i think) they always offer it on some sort of special even free shipping......

I looked it up...(item # F-29587) Total Gym Platnum $241.00. I'm betting that it will be their value one day soon (spring shape-up) and you can get it even cheaper or free shipping.....

suemazrn 04-01-2005 09:34 PM

Thanks!

I must have looked the wrong machine up. I checked the Total Gym website but it must have been a newer model or something. Thanks again. :D

Suzanne 3FC 04-03-2005 08:19 AM

There are a lot of versions of the Total Gym, ranging from about $250 to over $4,000.

www.totalgym.com has the more expensive models.

http://www.totalgymdirect.com/ has the moderately expensive line, starting at $999 for the Total Gym 2000 model.

www.fitnessquest.com and www.qvc.com have the least expensive models. These can also be found at Walmart or similar stores.

QVC will have their model as the Today's Special Value on April 10, so maybe they will have a good deal :)

Thanks!

Thanks for your help. :)
