Count me in!
I am doing weight machines (lower body), free weights (upper and lower body) and StairMaster FreeRunner. I am still fairly new at this but working my tail off. LOL The FreeRunner I am looking at starting Interval Training. Right now I am only able to do 20 minutes at 1.3 miles. Wish me luck I doing this again tonight. :)

Hi There!!
Womaninlove good to see you again :) I'm glad to see that you & Girlie are starting this thread. We will get some motivation rolling here :) I'll be checking in often... Anne, nice to meet you :) Wow! you seem to have a great routine there. I usually do my walking tapes, and occasionally do my cardioglide machine. I am doing WW at home and have been doing so for 1yr now. I have lost 53 lbs so far and have 13 more to go. With everyone's support we will all get to our goals and be much healthier. Girlie, how are you doing??? Miss ya!! Talk to you later  Debbie |
Hello everyone!!! Debbie told me about this new thread. WTG!!! I am going to be off the message board for the next week. My husband's dad and wife are flying in tonight and leave next Tuesday. I am freakin a bit because we will be going out to eat several times. I weigh in on Sat. at WW but this week I will go on Friday because we are going site seeing Friday and Sat. We live between D.C. and Baltimore. The good thing...we will be doing some walking both days..so hopefully I will counteract some of the eating out. I have been great with the exercise...I do Leslie Sansone 's 2 mile walk about 3 times a week and I usually walk 2-3 other days a week. I have done as much as 7 exercise sessions a week but I find I don't lose as well those weeks. I feel I do better at losing when I get in about 4-5. Although I don't mind exercise and really enjoy doing it most days. I have been doing it seriously since last June. I have always been one to exercise in the past years so it is not hard for me. I have lost 31.8 pounds since last June. I had a set back after Thanksgiving..gained about 6 1/2 pounds back over the holiday season and struggled to get back on track in Jan. and Feb. but starting in March I lost that plus more so I am feeling pretty good. THANKS DEBBIE.....SHE CHEERS ME ON DAILY!!! :)
Have a great Easter weekend everyone. I know I will and I know I will be eating some chocolate because I gave choc. candy up for Lent. I can't wait to eat some!!! Denise |
Hey!!!
Oh, I'm so excited to be a part of a thread again! Womaninlove, thanks so much for starting the new thread! You're so cute with your smiley faces! :)
Anne - welcome!!!! I think I communicated with you elsewhere on the board! What a great routine you have...you'll reach your goals in no time keeping that up! I don't do anything really special..I go to the gym every day and do 35-45 minutes on the elliptical machine, on an interval program. Eventually, I'll work some weights in there, but I want to work on my cardio for now. I've only been doing this for about a month now and have lost a little weight. Deb! Yay! Nice to see you again! Your success so far has been so awesome! I can't wait until I have a great inspiring story to tell! Way to getting those steps in! That's really great of you to help out Denise and keep her moving! Denise: Isn't it fun to have a buddy to cheer you on? womaninlove has been kicking me in the rear and I thank her very much for it!! I'm so glad to se we've had a great day so far. I made an awesome stirfry with fresh broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, snap peas and "I can't believe it's not chicken" soy products. It was SOOO good! I've gotta get some work done! I'll post again today. I'm really excited! |
Hello
Hello Girlie!! I am so glad you started a thread. I have missed you on the other one.
I am still going strong with my Leslie Sansone tapes. I am up to three miles with her which is the whole entire tape so I am pleased with my progress. I will be checking in later as I need ALL the support I can find. Take care and have a Great day!! |
Hi Girlie!! So how have the trips to the gym been going? How are you doing on the elliptical machine?? Sounds like you made a nice little stir fry there :) It's great to have the group together again. I missed you girls :)
So far it looks like I am pulling a maintain for this weeks weigh in. I weighed myself this morning (tomorrow is my official weigh in) and I was the same as last week. I am ok with that considering on saturday we went to Red Lobster & I really didn't count points. My saving grace is that I usually bank a ton of points so I had enough to cover what I ate on saturday. I went over by 10-11pts according to my calculations. I did have that cheesecake & it was GOOD!!! :D Well, I'll check in later again. Hope everyone is having a great afternoon. See ya! Debbie |
Hi everybody!!
I'm so glad we are already rolling!! Welcome!
Anne: So glad to meet you! Sounds like you are doing great on your program! Keep it up and please continue to check in with us! Girlie: I'm glad we did this! Thanks for making me feel like I'm an inspiration. You are doing the same for me! Deb: Hey buddy! Good to "see" you again! Red Lobster must have been heaven! It's nice to see a fellow points counter! I try not to use banked points or bonus exercise points if I can possibly help it, but sometimes they come in really handy! Hope you have a great day and thanks for joining us! Denise: Hi! Glad to see you too! Congrats on your exercising! You are really kickin' butt!!! I'm sure you will make wise choices when you go out to eat, don't worry!! Come back soon and let us know how it went!! Emmy: You are doing great on your tapes! Bravo! I went to the gym this morning and hopped up my intensity a little more on the treadmill. Peppy music while working out is a Godsend! I am feeling really positive! I got on the scale this morning and have lost another 2 lbs!!! I am down to 180!! 25 more and I'm at goal! Today is my sweetie's  birthday, so I took off work and we are having a nice day together. He's looking more 'buff' everyday! I just know we are all going to hit our goals! Let's do it!!!! ;) |
Smile!!!
Hey! Thought I'd check in again for the day!
Deb: My workouts are going well, thanks! I'm really glad we're going strong too. I've had a few "oopsies" this week, but womaninlove put me into place, telling me to get right back up and more my behind!! Emmy: Wow, three miles is really great! Have you ever gone to start your workout and just feel so "blah" that you just want to give up? ....I've found, that if I keep moving and go, go, go....I get into it more...I sometimes do better on those "blah" days than on regular days! Pretty soon, those 3 miles will be a cinch, and you'll have to jump in the TV and say, "Move, over, Leslie! Emmy's in town now!" Ha...sorry, I'm so silly! Denise: I PMed you about restaurants. I have several restaurants with points for some of the dishes if you or anyone else is interested....like Deb, I have points for a few things at Red Lobster...I'm sure you've found them elsewhere, but I have them if anyone is interested, and some other "eat-in" restaurants. Womaninlove: I'm really glad about your workouts! And with both you and your Man, looking even better than you already do is a great incentive, isn't it? Enjoy your day! And don't even worry about getting back on to check in!!! You need to be spoiling your Man! Talk to all of you soon! I'm really happy that ALL of you are here! PS- have any of you tried a spinning class? I have a free pass to try a class at my gym...I'm interested in spinning, but it looks challenging! Have a great evening!!! Girlie |
Girlie
My husband is taking a Spinning class at the Y. He is in pretty good shape because he rides a mountain bike. However, the Instructor nearly killed him. LOL I finished my workout before he was done and everytime I looked in on his class he was wiping sweat off his face.
Anne |
Hi!
womaninlove-- I have to tell you the food at Red Lobster was GOOD!!! I had the grilled chicken and shrimp scampi with a baked potato. YUM! I never use my banked points either. There have only been 2x that I have. This time & when we took my brother out to eat for his birthday. I just don't like getting into the habit of doing that. I hope your honey has a great birthday. Have fun ;) Girlie-- thanks for thinking of me with the points :) I usually check Dotti's site whenever I need to get restaurant points. She has a great list over there. Anne-- your poor hubby  I've never taken a spinning class but I saw what it is & it looks like they make them burn. Hopefully he was able to walk out of that class in one piece :) Talk to you all later  Debbie |
We had to ride home with the windows open because he was sweaty and smelly. :) He had a great time and is looking forward to his next class. He is a sick individual.
Anne |
HA!
Anne:
That is too funny! I think I will try it once I get a chance. I really would like to have something special like that to look forward to...so if I'm sucky at the first class, I'll work on my endurance to be able to do better the next class, etc. I'm SO uncoordinated, so I can't do any type of aerobics! Deb: Your dinner sounds so great! Dotti's is a great site, isn't it? Really helpful, and a great, inspirational story for all of us! I'm glad you found her too! Denise and Emmy: Hope you are having fun! Womaninlove: I KNOW you are!!! Ha! Have a great night everyone! Girlie |
Anne you are too funny. I'm glad he liked his class :)
Girlie-- Dotti's site is great! I love reading the success stories. It's great motivation :) I have managed to get in my 10,418 steps & 3.28 miles today. I hope everyone has a great night! Debbie |
Good Morning Everyone!!!
Hope everyone is having a great day so far. Today was my weigh in..UGH! I gained 1/2 lb. This plateau is really irritating me. This week I am trying to go to the new points range of 18-23pts & use the 4g fiber cap rule. I had been following the 1-2-3 plan. Maybe I need to switch. I did order my Power Walk 3 mile tape & I'm psyched about that. I just want to lose these last 13 lbs before I go to NY in July. Anyway, I'll check in with you all later....Have a good one!! Debbie |
Hi everyone!
I just bought an elliptical for home (Nordic Trak) and am looking into home gyms. I'm doing Body For Life training and am interesting in getting high intensity workouts! Great thread! Susan |
Motivation
Deb:
Oh, I KNOW you can totally lose that last 13 before New York! How neat! Where are you going in NY? I was born there, in Manhattan and lived my first 6 years in the state! I'm sorry about the plateau...I can't wait to get to one myself...after I've lost a ton of weight! Maybe that new Power Walk tape will do it. Sometimes they say just a switch in activities will do it! I think I may have gained a bit so far this week...I'm really anxious about my trip to PA next week...My goal is to work out every day while I'm there and just maintain...they have SO many good restaurants there in Philadelphia...mmmmm I'm so glad I don't live there! I found a couple of people on the board who are from Philadelphia and they've recommended some great grocery stores and restaurants to visit while I'm there! Susan: Welcome to the board! It's a bit slow today, but we all have other lives too, of course! There is a great group of ladies here, and if you stick around, you'll be able to meet and get to know each one. We follow different diet plans, but have one thing in common - we are the QUEENS of Cardio!! Ha...I'm an elliptical user myself. That's great that you are starting a home gym. All I have so far are dumbells! May I ask how much a home elliptical costs? I'd love to be able to have one at home...I could use it watching TV in my underwear...I would never have an excuse not to at least attempt to exercise, and I could do it whenever I want and not have to adhere to the Club's schedule. My diet has been slipping a bit lately..but at least I've got my exercise every day, keeping me sane. I'm going tonite. I have SUCH a busy weekend coming up. Just because it's Easter doesn't mean there's no homework! Plus, I have lots to do before I leave for PA on WEDNESDAY!!! YAY! Has anyone ever eaten at the Waffle House? I told myself for some reason that the next road trip I go on, I'm gonna stop at a Waffle House because they are all over the place. I hope it's not all greasy...I'm sure I could find SOMEthing on the menu. I'm also excited about White Castle. Some people think it's gross, but there are none around where I live and I just love it! I saw on a site that a hamburger there is 2pts because they are so tiny, and small waffle fries are 2pts also....I am looking forward to it!! Anyway, gotta get back to work. Womaninlove, Denise, Anne, Emmy: Hope you've had a great OP day! If not, I still hope your day was good anyway! Bye! I'll try to check in while I'm in PA. |
Girlie get out of here!! You were born in Manhattan?? What part?? I am from Brooklyn. Lived there the first 26yrs of my life.. My hubby is from Manhattan, actually the Upper West Side. What a small world.. I had to laugh when you mentioned White Castle. My hubby & I were talking about it the other day. We used to get them in NY with the fries...YUMMY! I'm sure you are going to have a blast in PA. Have a safe trip!!! :)
Susan welcome :) Hope you all have a good night! Debbie |
HA
Debbie, I have no idea what part of Manhattan! See, my parents lived by West Point, NY...I was a total preemie and was very small (less than 2lbs, they say!) and the Army hospital didn't have the technology I guess to accept me, so they rushed my mom in Labor to a hospital in NY (1978). It was called Sloane Babies hospital or something? I kept going back for the next 7 years of my life for follow up care, then moved to Philadelphia. I'd love to be able to find the hospital. Have you heard of it? I'd love to be able to find my nice doctor who dealt with me for 7 years. She took pics every year, and I'd love to inform her of my progress throughout the years (ha..I've gained that weight that I needed when I was born!! Ha!). I've looked the hospital up on the net and it looks like it's a part of Columbia University??? I don't know!
So anyway, I don't know much about NY...I was too young. We really lived in Tappan, NY in military housing. No one's ever heard of that and then they say, "Japan?!" and I'll say "No, TAppan!" and it gets all confusing...so I just tell them I was born in Manhattan! Okay, that's my story! Have a good night (or morning!). Girlie |
Oh, Deb...
Do you have the NY accent? If you do, I'll have to read all your posts with the
"New Yawk way"....ha! Girlie |
Hey Girlie, I don't have a thick NY accent but I do have a bit of an accent. Must be the being Spanish & being from NY (I don't have a Spanish accent :) ). You can ask Denise  she's heard me talk..... I do say get outta here...can't help that.... :D I think it's more the attitude  actually than the accent... I asked my hubby about the hospital you were born. He said he knows of a Sloane Kettering hospital (I don't know if I spelled that right) but I don't know if it's one & the same.
See ya! Debbie |
Smile!
Thanks, Deb! That is the hospital I've seen on the internet. I'm gonna check there some more to see if there's anyone I can email about it. Plus, I might be needing documention from them regarding my birth. I have a birth certificate - the ones from NY look funny..it's just a small piece of paper. My friend went to get her passport and needed more info than her birth certificate. I hope I don't have a hard time. My Pookie is taking me to England in August! He says lots of the women in England are thin and you don't see a lot of people who are overweight, so that's a great incentive for me to be way closer to my goal by then. I don't want them to look at me and think, "Fat Americans!". That's cool that your Spanish! I'm half black and half Jap! Ha!
Have a good night! Girlie |
Hello everybody
Hi! I'm back from my little love holiday! What a nice time we had! I did not go to the gym today, but I am back on the wagon tomorrow morning! I had to be at a stupid training for work this morning boooor-ing!
It's nice to see everyone is still plugging along though. Sounds like we have all had a rough week on our programs (me too! my eating has been a little, um liberal.) We are going to a fancy steakhouse this Saturday and then to karaoke. I'm gonna have to be careful... Girlie: Sorry I have been absent today...so hectic! I will email soon! I bet you are really getting excited about your trip!!! Susan: Hello! Welcome! I admire you for doing the BFL program. It seems difficult, but I have seen amazing before and afters...I'm sure you will be one of them!! You go girl! Deb: I hate plateaus!!! They are so frustrating! It sounds like you are sticking with it and not giving up on yourself though! Thatta girl! You can and will do it! Wait to you reveal the new you to NY!!! Anne: You are so funny! BTW, what is a freerunner?? Emmy, Denise...hope you guys are doing great! Thinking about you! Everyone have a wonderful Easter weekend! Womaninlove  |
FreeRunner
Gosh how do I describe it. LOL Well it has pedals that are off the ground and you slip your feet in so they are secure. You pick the program you want, manual, fat burning etc, time etc and basically you run. Your feet are secure so there is no impact on your lower joints. It also has hand thingys you can use or fold them down if you don't. This is made by StairMaster. I get a much better work out with this. Boy it makes you work. :)
|
Anne:
Sounds a little like the elliptical machine (which I still can't seem to get on...my man loves it though!) I feel like I'm getting into a good groove with the treadmill and still increasing intensity of workouts, but I know I will tire of it eventually, so I'm on the prowl for new machines... Thanks for the info! Have you been doing it long? (I have to go to bed now, :dz: because if I don't I won't be able to get up early to work out! Everyone have a wonderful night! I'll be back tomorrow!) womaninlove |
We're burning up!
Looks like we need a new thread started as we are on FIRE! Woo Hoo!
See you at Cardio Queens Unite #2!!!!!! womaninlove :) |
Hello everyone !! What a great POSITIVE thread you have going!
When I first started WW i was walking outdoors at a track with friends and as school started ( i have 3 jobs) it started to dwindle down to once a day and then once a week instead of 3-5 times a week. I am hoping to gain some motivation( kick me in the rear) to get started again. I walk at the track, do a Leslie Sansone tape, I also have a treadmill and a air walker and tae bo tapes. So you see there is no excuse except self-motivation. Please don't be offended if my posts only say what exercise I have done that day, and not individual comments. I have little time to post since I work so much. I gain my motivation from seeing what others have done. |
Hello
Hello Everyone!! Just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing!! Hopefully, everyone had a great Easter!!
I received my new Leslie Sansone video today and will be trying that one out tomorrow. At least I will have 2 to alternate with now. I have been staying within my points. I made the 0 point veggie soup today it was actually good. That soup would really come in hand on those no points left days!! I will be checking in later. Hope everyone is doing well!! It is getting cold again here in Ohio. I am freezing!!! I hope Spring gets here and stays here soon!! |
