http://p.webshots.com/ProThumbs/19/3...llpaper280.jpg WoW :o I have some catching up to do, huh... Good Morning Ladies! I did another 2.5 miles and went to Curves yesterday, but KRISTI ~ Yes! I just love my Curves!!! The ladies that work there are so helpful and kind ~ not to mention the friends I have made there. I personally love it! As for walking ~ I will never catch up to you at this rate (my competitive side slipping out ;) )... Good job! :cp: But at that speed you aren't walking anymore you are jogging and with this bad knee of mine --- a fast walk is all I am able to do --- I want to jog so bad, but everytime I try I hurt so bad in my left knee that evening... It was dislocated in my accident in 1976 from hitting the steering column and has never been the same. Even when I wrap it I am still not able to jog :( Maybe after I lose a bit more weight I will. Glad you enjoyed the tulips - I thought they were so pretty too :) Sounds like you had a nice Mother's Day... me too. My hubby & I never had children (not by choice), but we have helped allot with friends and family and I received cards and gifts from them --- so special! It has been said, "that when a door closes, a window opens" We went to church and then spent the morning with our friends and their family - nice first half of the day... then came home to chill out together. My parents are in Maine and Joe's parents have passed. MICHELLE ~ WoW girl... you are doing WONDERFULLY!!!! Congrats on your weight-loss - down 10#'s from May 1st - awesome job! How are you feeling(?)- you mentioned you were sick... and you still walked, I am impressed. Weekends are very difficult for me to get onto the computer we are so very busy - my weekdays are quieter. When Joe is home there is no idle time ;) So I will do my best on those days, but don't worry about me if I don't show up on Saturday or Sunday, okay ;) I didn't mean to let yesterday go by without posting, but it just got so HOT here I couldn't bring myself to turn on the computer - I was out in the yard most of the day. We see very little sun here and I took advantage :D Today looks like rain... Hi LYNNE ~ You are so wise when it comes to listening to your body... I seem to be like you and when I read you felt that way and needed a break, you confirmed what I felt about me! I took a break this weekend too and by Monday I was so ready for exercise. I will try to get in another 2 miles this morning, but the knee is bothering me from the humidity - so I'll just do my best. If it weren't for this darn knee I would feel pretty darn good! AND be able to do more! Oh well... have to play the cards I am delt :) Have a super day ladies! I think you gals are great motivators!!!! Thank~you!! :sunny: SunnyD http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif MaY MiLeS: 15.75 http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...smle08/div.gif |

So now I just keep on truckin' --- no matter what. I have found that I have muscle swelling that can add about 3-5#'s in just water weight and it does go away after a day or so, especially if you watch the salt you take in and drink your water. For instance... yesterday I did Curves (40min) and then walked on the T-Mill (60min) and dared not to go near that scale - I know I will weigh in heavier! But I did good by my body by exercising and I feel good and that is what matters. *Just a note that may help you* At Curves they say you should give yourself one days rest in between resistance workouts... so maybe you shouldn't use your Bowflex (a resistance workout) more then 2 - 3x's a week. Oh, and make sure you are getting plenty of sleep - so very important for muscle recovery. I am usually in bed and asleep by 10pm because I am up by 5am every morning. Oh please - don't let it get to you... I wish I were close enough to give you a huge hug! This will have to do ---> {{{Hugs}}} Sending Good vibes :goodvibes your way for a much better day! Always, :sunny: SunnyD *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
LYNNE ~ I just checked out your breakfast on FITDAY and didn't think it was bad at all... the carbs you had this morning are considered complex carbs (the good ones) and great for muscle toning. I'll try to take a look-see as you go through your day, okay. And I am sure that Kristi & Michelle will have some good advice also. Wishing you only the best... Pat-yourself-on-the-back ~ you are doing so well! **Don't look back - keep your eye on the prize and the only way to do that is to... ... look up and forward** ;) :sunny: SunnyD PS>>> I posted that last part to remind myself too ;) |
Lynne- I am with sunny I too took a look at your fitday and you had oatmeal with skim milk for breakfast, and oatmeal is a good carb so It's not bad if you are eating the right carbs, thats what south beach preaches. Ok I took a look back at your fitday, and the only foods that really jumped out at me were Pizza and oreos, the cookies more so than the pizza lol 5g of fat a piece plus the 26 "bad" carbs, and we all know how bad pizza is, don't get me wrong girly I would looooovvveee to have some pizza too lol. But other than that your diet looked good, have you checked out South Beach Diet? I love it and it helps lower cholesterol, you can check out my fitday and see what I eat in a day and I usually come in at just over 900 calories a day, and I feel full!! Well I hope this helps sorry if my thoughts were jumbled hard to think this early in the morning lol.
Sunny- so glad to see you back. I'm glad you had a wonderful weekend with hubby. ok girls I need to get some housework done, I'll ttyl!! Michelle |
Thanks for the kind words Sunny and Michelle, I feel better than I did this morning. Thank you also for taking the time to look at my Fitday. I threw away the oreo cookies too Michelle :).
I'm planning to go out for a walk this evening but there is thunder rumbling overhead and its looking like a storm is coming so I may just end up running on the exercise machine. I'll still use Bowflex but as you suggested Sunny will probably just keep doing it twice a week. I'm also going to continue walking but may cut that down for now to every other day. You both made me realise that all is not lost and the desperation and disappointment I felt this morning has dissipated some. I'd very much like to give you both a hug so here you go: *HUG* |
awwww Lynne thanks for the Hug :) You are working so hard I just know the weight will start coming off!! Keep up the good spirits!
Michelle |
Hi All, I wrote a huge post earlier, but it got lost in cyber space. That's the 2nd time that has happened ti me in less than a week. I will try to remember what I wrote to each of you. I got so angry I turned the computer off. I did use the time for a much needed long hot bath.
Michelle, Once again your miles are looking terrific. Every day you inspire me. I had an oportunity to watch a tvshow about the SB diet. It was very eye opening for me as I had believed it was just another remake of the Atkin's plan. I just can't accept any diet plan that will not allow you to eat wonderful things like sweet potatos, carrots, oranges, whole grains, etc. I was surprised to realize I have been following pretty closely to the SB diet for like 4 yrs. now. I was hip and happenin' when I didn't even know it! lol Keep up the good work girl! Sunny, Oh so many nice things you always say. Refering to that at my speed I'm now jogging. I know absolutely nothing about running etc... and become very down the other day while watching the Dr. Phil weight loss challenge. He had the people participate in a 1 mile walk. Jogging was not allowed. If they were caught jogging they were immediately disqualified. To get to the upsetting part. These people were all walking a mile in 10 and 11 minutes!!!!!!! I'm sitting there with me chin on the floor asking, who can walk 5 and 6 mph?!? Only one actually took slightly over 15 min.!!! I think a 15 min mile aka 4 mph is hoofing it right along!!!! So, your comment made me feel much better and more normal. I want to express my sympathy over the injury you received in an accident. It must have been one awful time to still be giving you pain 18 yrs. later!!! I give you so much credit for doing what you are doing. So many people would use that type of injury to just stay out of the game all together. But not you. You listen to your body and do what's best for it. I hope you're very proud of yourself. Lynne, I know that d_ _ _ scale can get the best of us at times, but just try to ignore it. I'm such an addict that I don't even own one anymore. I literally would way myself upwards of 20 times a day. Now I have to go next door to my MIL's to weigh myself. Sometimes I'm jonesing to step on the scale, but I try to keep it to once a wk. if not once every 2 wks. As to your weight gain. The other girls gave you terrific advice. Great job getting rid of those oreos. They are just aweful for a body! I know this is going to sound like odd advice, but if you are eating only 1200 cals a day you may actually be eating too little. I see your CW is 201. From reading I've done you should be eating 1700-1800 cals a day and exercising 5 times a wk. to drop 1-2 pound/wk. When we eat too little our furnaces stall to conserve the energy it thinks may be in short supply. Research it for yourself, give it thought, throw the advice it out!! Whatever you decide to do remember that stupid number on the scale is not who you are. Who you are is someone who's trying to do better for herself and that's a wonderful type of person. I'm so happy, not only did I have the best mother's day I've ever had, but my DH has decided to go to Cub Scout camp with our son this weekend instead of me. I only work 14 hr/wk in the family business so of course I'm the one who has gotten trained by the BSA and leads our sons Wolfe pack. I think it's terrific that DH has arranged his work load so he can go. I think it will mean a great deal to our son. Planning 2.25 miles for today. I don't know how yet. If it doesn't rain I may hit the bike trail for a nice walk. Have great day all you lovely ladies! Kristi |
Kristi - You crack me up!! You are sooo hip and happening!! I was on the atkins for 3 weeks and lost 12 lbs, but then I went in to my doctors to talk about my weight gain because I am hypothyroid and put a ton of weight on all of a sudden, so anyway I got put on a prescription weight loss med and follow the South Beach Diet and do my walking away the pounds tapes, I would walk outside but I would have to take my 2 girls which would be lots of stops and starts and not as good a work out as I want, and so far so good. I love south beach because I always feel full I mean, last night for instance, I had 7 oz of meatloaf, 15 small asparagus spears and 2 cups of salad greens, 1/4 cup tomatoes, and 1/4 cup ff cheese for dinner and still came in under 1000 calories, I find it very very difficult to make it above 1000 anymore. I always slide in somewhere between 900-1000 calories a day. Okay enough rambling lol.
Count me for 2 miles today!! Yayyy!! Michelle |
 Good afternoon gals, I just finished 2.75miles on my T-Mill and while I was on the T-Mill I was watching the show "I lost it" and "lost it" as one of the ladies sharing her success story did it with Curves. After 1 year of going to Curves (5x a week & eating 5 balanced meals a day) she lost 87lbs and went from an 18 to a 10! I want to do that! I found myself walking/jogging and crying  all at the same time (not very easy to do either :o ). I want to get this weight off me so badly I would do anything it takes to do so... I am a very impatient person at times and have to remind myself that it took time going on - it will take time and consistent effort daily to take it off and keep it off. I lost 85lbs in 1986 (going from 220 to 135) and kept it off till 1992... then I went through some traumatic times and went into my old habits of comforting myself with food and viola... I am trying again and find it much harder to lose again being older now. I just want to see 155 again :^: *~*~* KRISTI ~ I never understood how anyone could walk that fast either :dizzy: maybe one day I will, but right now there's no way I can get my legs to move that fast and not pull something, if you know what I mean :D Thank you for your kind words also, it is so important for me to speak positive to others and myself... I have such a tendency to think badly of myself and love others more. I am trying to love and care for myself as much as I do others (t'aint easy either). As for my injuries... I have never liked to settle if I can make something better, you know. I don't want the knee surgery I have been told I will have one day, so I am working out the muscles hoping to save it. All I can do is try --- thanx again for bing so encouraging to me :goodvibes LYNNE ~ Thank-you so much for the {{{Hug}}} I am so glad :smug: to see that you are feeling much better then this morning!!! :cp: Keep that chin up - you are so deserving... we all are! So glad to hear that you got rid of those Oreo's! I know how hard that is to do too... just the smell alone can send you into a binge. If you knew what was in them you would never eat them again. The centers are nothing more then sweetened lard (like Crisco) --- all hydrogenated & processed oils... plastic that goes into your arteries and stays there eventually causing heart attacks or stokes. Just keep that in mind each time you want a store bought cookie ;) I will make my own goodies with real butter before I buy another store bought cookie/goodie, with that in mind. Sorry to go off like that --- I just thought it was info that was good for everyone to know. I stopped buying processed foods 6 years ago. Now to control my portions :^: :dizzy: MICHELLE ~ I must agree with you... I think the SBD (Phase II) is much more balanced in foods then the Atkins Diet and much easier to stay with. It's basically what I am on as well. Not to the letter, but I have been doing it a long time and pretty much know what to eat and what not to. Have a wonderful evening gals! :sunny: SunnyD *~*~* http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif MaY MiLeS: 18.50 http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...smle08/div.gif |
I did another 2 miles tonight, another 4 mile day for me :) Yayyyyyy!!!
Have a wonderful night!! Michelle |
Another 3.9 miles done this morning.
Michelle you are doing really well :). |
Michelle, I know exactly what you mean you say you can't get a very good workout with your children along. That's one of the main reasons I'm loving my TM. I get my workout done first and then it doesn't matter if we stop to pick flowers or look at the birdies, whatever it is that catches their eye. My 7 yr. old especially enjoys walking the bike trail and I feel so bad when I leave her home, because mommy has to be able to go faster than you can honey. I see yesterday was another 4 mile day. YGG!
Sunny, Wow you are making want to take the plunge at Curves as well. The closest one to me is 20 miles away, but maybe it would be worth it to make the extra effort. I hear you on the loving others more than yourself. It's funny, but it actually took having children of my own to understand how important it is to love ourselves and to think highly of ourselves. I want my children to always think that they are worthy. In the sence that they know people should treat them with kindness and respect and if they don't they are people they would be better off without. I had to change how I felt about me to teach self respect to them. That old slippery slope of low self esteem is always right there though. That's why I'm always coming back to 3FC telling how I've gained 15 pounds back again. Not this time. I'm moving forward forever from now on. Sorry if I got too deep, but it's what drives us all to overeat and not take care of ourselves to some extent. Give yourself a big hug today! Lynne, It sounds like you're back on track. Great job! As for me, my eating's going well and the sun is finally shining. They are predicting severe weather for our area later again today!!! So I'm going to enjoy it while it's here. I ended up doing just 2 miles on the trail last night. I did really try to push myself and worked up a good sweat. Which is why I usually avoid the trail for workouts, because I don't push myself and usually end up strolling along never breathing hard or breaking a sweat. There needs to be something said for just comfy relxibg walks too though. Planning 3 miles for today. Kristi MaY MiLeS : 30 |
http://www.sweetrainbow.com/freeclipart/sulla_porta.gif Good Afternoon Gals, I just finished 2miles (50min) and went to Curves (40min) this morning. I ended up standing outside the Curves chatting with one of the ladies for another 30 minutes :) I just love it there. I always feel so much better after going - not only for the exercise, but socially! I always feel so content and ready for the day when I get home. It went into the 80's yesterday ( I think it was 84*) and today they are calling for highs in the mid 80's again ~ we are at 80* now. I think it feels wonderful! We have waited so long for warm weather here ~ you won't find me complaining about it, that's for sure. Lately it seems that we are getting rains at night or early mornings & sunny days - which is perfect! I have waitied a long time to open up this house, so it will take an unbearable heat for me to turn on the AC and close up our home. I just love the sounds of the outdoors & the warmth... Hi LYNNE ~ Awesome! 3.9miles today already! How have you been feeling getting in those miles? You should be so proud of yourself :twirly: I think you may be surprising yourself these days :D I know that if I am feeling yucky - I always feel so much better after I work out - especially if I don't feel like doing it (like yesterday afternoon --- what a struggle for me at first). KRISTI ~ No worries (at least when it comes to me) about chatting on & sharing... I do it too. Besides that is what this place is all about - isn't it ;) A place to chat, vent & share... I think that you are so *on track* and gaining speed, girl :jig: WoW  you are up to 30miles already!!! You will not be looking back anymore  and neither will I be. We all need to do this for ourselves, so that we may be better people around those we love :goodvibes Wow MICHELLE ~ How do you fit it all in with the children? I can barely fit in the workouts I do... great job! I just may hop on the T-Mill again later this afternoon and try to get in another mile for the day :smug: ;) Later gals... I have some chores to finish up today :) :sunny: SunnyD http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif MaY MiLeS: 20.5 http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...smle08/div.gif |
another 2 miles, I woulda done 4 today but I was busy doing the spring cleaning earlier so I was kinda pooped out lol. I got all my kids winter clothes put away and their summer clothes in their drawers the hand me downs have been packed and rotated so the next size up for the baby is available :), I also recaulked my bathtub and I Finally put the babies crib in her room and working on getting my 2 yo old to sleep in her own bed as well, not worried about the baby so much as the 2 yo lol. At any rate I got my walk in and I feel good!! 28 for May!
Sorry to carry on lol I get that way late at night lol talk to you tomorrow Michelle |
oh kristi, you are a stay at home mom right? did you know we have a stay at home moms thread under support groups? You should come and join us there sometime :) If there are any other stay at home walking moms feel free to join our thread! :D
Michelle |
Hi All, We got another 1.75" of rain last night. Today it's colder and just plain dreary. There is a constant mist in the air which means today is good for nothing, but housework lol Which I abhor!!! It's just that it's so never ending. Like I'm telling you something you didn't allready know lol I did do my 3 miles yesterday and I was so pleased with myself. I managed the 3 in 39 min 20 sec I was actually able to run 5.3 mph for 1.25 miles for better heart and lung than I have ever experienced, but I have been eating right this week. The previous 2 wks I was eating pretty much all wrong most days and the energy level was sinking fast!!! Planning just 2 miles today, but no pushing it. I don't want to overdo and end up hating again.
Pats on the back to all of you!! Sunny, I love your picture it's sooo cute! Michelle, Thanks for the invite. Last summer I did spend some time on a SAHM thread, but everyone talked so much I couldn't keep up and I fealt like I was not holding up my end. Silly, maybe. Probably a narcissistic thing lol Kristi MaY MiLeS : 32 |
http://members1.chello.nl/~j.faessen/images/suzy2.gif A very GOOD Morning Gals! I never did get in any more miles last night - just had too much to do and not nearly enough energy left :^: BUT... ... ...I just finished 4miles!!! 4! I impressed myself! I am also down another pound as of this morning. I couldn't wait to change my sig. I have lost a total of 20lbs as of today :smug: Boy, seems like allot of work for only one pound down, but my weigh & measure at Curves isn't till next Thursday (5-20) so maybe I have lost inches more than pounds... I am happy :) Well, we finally caved last night before bed and decided to turn our AC on for the night... I am so glad we did, it made it for real nice sleeping. It was still 84* in the house at 9:30 last night and I could not sleep in that - even with the fans on. *~*~* Hi KRISTI ~ I don't think you are narcissistic at all, Kristi! I love this thread because it is small! Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with trying to catch up with some of the threads I am on... I love the people, but it can be trying sometimes. I won't leave the ones I am on, but I won't join any more either. I enjoy getting to know people better and when you get that busy you just can't ;) Hi LYNNE ~ Where are you? Hope all is going well for you today ;) Hi MICHELLE ~ Between you and Kristi - I don't have a chance in haties in catching up  But you both are giving me a great challenge even if you didn't intend this to be a challenge thread :D Good job!!! *~*~* Well gals, I must get in a shower :o & then get back to my chores. Later... :sunny: SunnyD *~*~* http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif MaY MiLeS: 24.5 http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...smle08/div.gif |
:bravo: :dancer: WTG Sunny, A 4 mile walk and a pound gone forever. YGG
You mention that it was alot of work :( but anything worth doing is and remember your friends at Curves make you feel like a :queen: So, no  just more :cb: :hat:  :encore: Have a great day, oops you allready have :D Kristi |
Another 3 miles for me today! 31 for the month!
I was quite discouraged to see this morning that my weight was up to 235 when I was 232 my last weigh in (sunday) but whoa I just had a thought, I crammed soft tacos last night to get my calories in before the day was through and they are filled with sodium!! I bet I was retaining water! Hmmm I'll see tomorrow!! Lol sorry bout my ramblings lol Well Thank you guys for keeping me so motivated, I'm ready to do another 2 miles tonight before bed. I want this weight gone!! You ladies have a great night!!] Michelle |
Morning :)
Hi Sunny :) I skipped off yesterday and had a very lazy day. I ate well though, so all was not lost! I did another 2 miles this morning, walked very briskly and felt pretty good. Michelle, does sodium intake affect how much water you retain? I think you are doing great on the weight loss and walking. I'm going to do some light weights now. Have a good day everyone and I'll ttyl. |
Michelle, WTG girl. You are just rockin'. Don't worry about that couple of pounds salt can make the scale do torturous things to you. Keep moving forward, sometimes I think those fake gains are thrown in there just to see how serious we are lol
Hey Lynne, You too are doing terrific. Hope you have a great weekend As for me I have no miles to add today. I got called in to work in the kitchen at school. I'm a last minute sub when someone is sick or something. So when I got done work I had to come home and pack my men off to Scout camp and of course I had all kinds of patches and what not to sew on. I can't have my boy going off without all his hard earned awards on. Then I went to the library and picked up Dr. Phil's weight loss and book andI think I'm going to curl up with that and worry about exercise again tomorrow. Eating's been good so far today, but my bodies screaming for something right now. Hopefully I'll take the time to make it something healthy!! Have a great weekend everybody! Kristi MaY MiLeS : 32 |
Kristi - I took today off as well I had a lot of shopping to do and cleaned my house spotless, which of course you can't tell now lol. I also weighed again this morning after flushing out my body yesterday with 144 oz of water and I was back to normal!! I was so happy that it was actually water retention.
Everyone have a great weekend!! Michelle |
Saturday very early in the morning
http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...colorsfee3.gif Good Morning KRISTI, MICHELLE & LYNNE ~ I didn't get in my T-Mill yesterday either - strange that 3 of the 4 of us weren't able to get it in. But I did go to Curves in the morning :) Lynne, good for you knowing when to rest... and then getting in 2 miles yesterday. I wanted to, but the body was just plain tired! I'll try to get in some walking, but we have very busy weekends when the hubby is home ;) I am hoping to get in some major gardening after we get home from breakfast and grocery shopping this morning. Right now it is raining, but it is suppose to end sometime this morning (I hope!). Hope you all have a great weekend... TTFN... a coffee to go ;) http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...sfeecupani.gif :sunny: SunnyD *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Good morning :)
Did another 3.9 miles this morning, was out at 6.00 am! It rained all last night so I thought it would be nice and fresh, then I remembered I live in Tennessee and of course, it was humid as usual! It was nice and quiet though, no traffic on our road and the dogs seemed to enjoy it too. Going to the movies today to see "Troy" then going to a mongolian grill for dinner so I am aiming to be good and eat sensibly. Have a good weekend ladies, I will check in later :). |
4 miles for me today, 35 for the month. Sorry this is a short post gotta get some stuff done.
hope you are all having a great weekend Michelle |
Michelle and Lynne, you ladies are putting me to shame the past couple days. So far today I have no miles to log, but I did play tennis for an hr. with my daughter today. It was a total blast. When I was a kid me and a neighbor boy played tennis all the time, but I hadn't played since I was probably 13 or 14. It felt awesome to finally have a child old enough to share this interest with. Luckily the Easter Bunny had left new rackets and balls!!! I might do a couple miles later, but I'll edit if I do! Sunny, I think Curves counts whether you've walked or not!!!! You are doing just a terrific job. I hope you and the hubby have a great weekend. I just got done building a bigger fire ring with cement blocks and now I need to round up kindling and such. I bought some grilled sandwich makers that you use over a campfire and that's how we're going to cook tonight. I bought ham, turkey, cheese etc.. for the main meal and then we have apple and peach pie filling to make like turnovers in the cookers for dessert. It should be a good time. My cals will be high for today, but what are weekends for anyway?
Have a good one ladies! Kristi |
http://members1.chello.nl/~j.faessen/images/suzy.gif Good Evening LYNNE, MICHELLE & KRISTI ~ I usually rest on Sunday's but because I didn't log any miles on Friday or on Saturday (I was gone all day both days)... I thought I would get in a little bit today, so I got in 1.5miles. Not much but better then nothing ;) Hope you gals are having a Wonderful Sunday ~ I know I am! :D It was ugly weather yesterday, but today is absolutely beautiful! 65* and sunny! Great for working out in the gardens... which we have been doing since we got home from church today. Oh we also put up the new Arbor we bought yesterday! It is so cool! Cannot wait to get some vines growing on it! Later... time for me to get dinner made. See you in the morning after I get done my Curves and walking. TTFN :sunny: SunnyD http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif MaY MiLeS: 26.0 http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...smle08/div.gif |
I too have hada great Sun., being LAZY. I had planned to get gardening done today, but I was just wiped out. We stayed up until after midnight doing campfire fun which is very late for me. Today I opened our store at 6am, was teaching Sun school by 9am,church was done around 11:30am and then cooking dinner seemed to be about all I was up to. Oh I've been putsing outside with the kids all day, but not accomplishing anything. I ended up doing no walking yesterday, but ontop of the tennis me and the children scoured the woods for an hr. loading up firewood. I did alot of tree stomping and twisting to get them the size I wanted so I felt that was sufficient, but I've done nothing you could call exercise today and don't plan to. It's a good thing my miles were ahead of the game. I'm planning 3 or 4 for tomorrow!! I'm glad you're having such a nice weekend as well Sunny. What kind of flowers do you plan to plant for climbing your arbor? I love morning glories myself.
Take care all Kristi |
I had 6 miles for today!! 41 miles total for the month. I thought I posted earlier but my post seems to be missing hmmmm ok who is the post bandit?? lol jk ;) Well good to hear that you guys had a wonderful weekend!!
Sunny-Your garden sounds absolutely beautiful!! I would love to have one but I would have to invest time that I just don't have, my kids just keep me too busy, but maybe when they are older :) Kristi - Wow you woodsy girl you!! Gatherin wood and everything ;) I'm sure you burned a fair amount of calories gathering wood so don't worry about it!! Well its been a long day of cleaning and walking ;) so I'm gonna hit the sack. I'll talk to you ladies tomorrow. Sleep Well. Michelle |
Good morning :)
Wow, you girls are doing great with the walking! I put in another 2 miles today then did some light weight lifting. I tried to jog a little on my walk but it was very uncomfortable. I think I am going to have to wait till I have lost a few more lbs before I move to jogging. I had a great weekend, ate very well, no pizza or steak in sight! Went to see Troy on Saturday and I think I burned off a few hundred calories drooling over Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom and Eric Bana  . Ok, pretend I didn't say that! It looks like another overcast day here today so I am hoping to get some gardening done before it rains. The vegetable garden is looking great but there is so much weeding to be done. I will talk to you later, have a good day. |
Good morning Lynne and Michelle, Rain is expected for here today too so my miles will definitely be of TM kind. Michelle is just tearing up the track. YGG! I do love the woodsy stuff, but I was so exhausted yesterday teaching my SS class was about all I could manage, but you have just encouraged me to up my miles to 4 for today. I thinl 2 sections of 2. I may even dig out my WATP tapes ol Leslie sure seems to be doing it for you. I truly am impressed with your effort. I know how difficult it can be to make time for exercise when you have little ones in the house! Lynne, I totally hear you on the drooling being a terrific form of exercise. I went to see VanHelsing last weekend with Hugh Jackman and ate the whole big bag of popcorn. I just knew cals. were burning by the way my blod was boiling. I normally don't care much one way or the other about actors, but for me there's just something about him. There's talk he'll be the next James Bond. If so I will actually start going to 007 movies!!! Sounds like your exercise is going great for you. Keep it up. You're worth it!!! Hey Sunny, have a great Mon.

Good morning girls!! Well I did 2 miles this morning and I'm planning another 2-3 miles when hubby gets home from work :) I am beginning to feel so great and seeing some results too!! Yesterday I was able to get into a 36" bra!! I was wearing a 38-40 so I am feeling pretty wonderful about that!! Well I did some sponge painting with my 2 yo yesterday and she had a blast, and I painted the bottom of my 7 mo's feet and made some little foot prints it was lots of fun!! I'm gonna try and do a project with my 2 yo again today maybe using some noodles. Well I got some more cleaning to finish up but I hope to see some posts from you guys later today!!
Have a wonderful day!! Michelle |
http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...orsplant1a.gif Hi KRISTI ~ Sounds like you had such an enjoyable weekend with you family... good for you!!!! Hope you are having a great Monday so far too --- mine is! How can I go wrong with sunshine and 79* Yep! That's what I am planting... Morning Glories - lavender, all shades. Hope they take hold before the bunnies find them this time. I am planting some Petunias's and then planting the seeds of the Morning Glories into the soil to kind of hide them a little from the bunnies. It worked for my neighbor, so I am gonna give it a go. When it begins to look like I want it to I will take some pictures for you to see, okay. I did some gardening yesterday, but still have tons to do. I got allot of wash done today (sheets & Blankets) and have to run a vacuum yet. And when Joe gets home we'll have dinner and head right back out into the yard. I usually wait to work in the gardens on the weekends or the evenings so Joe can join me --- he loves to work in the gardens with me and have some say in what is being done as well as lend me a helping hand --- and I think it is stress relieving for him after a hectic day and I enjoy his company. Cannot wait till it all takes hold, so I can show you all... Hi MICHELLE ~ Gardens do take time... no doubt, but I have that. I don't have children and I don't work ~ so time I have. I have health issues, so I am not able to work but I do like to keep busy and this is a great hobby during the summer. WoW girl --- 43miles already!!! You will be as skinny as a rail by the end of summer at this rate ;) :cp: So happy for you --- seeing results in your bra and clothing sizes!!! :cp: How did the noodle project go today :D Sounds like you enjoy your children very much --- both you and Kristi. I think that is so wonderful!! You both sound like great moms! Hi LYNNE ~ Jogging is still too hard on my left leg & hip too... so it's just walking for me till these muscles build & get stronger and I lean out more. So you aren't alone ;) Weight lifting is so good for you --- good for you!!!! I go to Curves and they are resistance exercises... I didn't go this morning as planned --- I felt like a Mac Truck hit me after the sweets I had over the weekend, so I will go tomorrow instead to make up for it. Boy, do sugars do a number on me now that I have cut back. I have to be very careful on the weekends. I am great at staying away on the weekdays - it's just the weekends :o  Too funny about Brad Pitt! I heard that *Troy* was a great movie and that Brad had allot of butt shots because he is 40 and may not be doing it again, so he told them he wanted to do them while he was in shape and young enough still --- is it true???? Allot of butt shots? Too funny!!!!??? If only I had those kind of worries... http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...plantline1.gif I got in 5 miles today and will be working in the gardens with the hubby this evening, so I hope I have burned some of those sugar calories off... :^: :p :^: Have a nice evening gals... see you tomorrow after I get done my workouts ;) TTFN :sunny: SunnyD http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif MaY MiLeS: 31.0 http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...smle08/div.gif |
ok count me in for another 3 miles!! 46 for the month!!
Sunny - Ohhhhh I do hope you post some pictures of your garden sometime for us!! It sounds so beautiful!! lol I won't be skinny by the end of the summer but I'll be closer than I am now and healthier for it!! I already feel so much better, I spent a year on bedrest because of my pregnancy and other health issues so I am really glad I can be up and about, I really am thankful for it :). Ok time to hop in the shower and then we are gonna do our noodle project if Taylor doesn't fall asleep on me ;) You ladies have a wonderful afternoon. Michelle |
Alas, My Mon. was not all I'd planned it to be. The day started out great with 2 loads of laundry on the line and getting all my peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage ans kalarabi plants in. I was smokin' and feeling great, because this was all done before 9am and then the school called. My oldest was in the office with a headache, sore throat, and low grade fever. I got her home and then DH needed help at wrk. I found someone to stay with DD who didn't seem too bad just maybe a little run down. I worked with DH until almost 3pm by then I had to get dinner and prepped for cub scouts. I never did get my walk in at all and by 8pm DD temp was at 103.3. She was miserable and kept mommy up off and on all night!!! Thankfully she's feeling much better today and temp is at 99.9 w/o any tylenol. I di get busy today and do 3 mile WATP tape and am once again feeling awesome. I ma heading out to put in my tomatoes now I hope to get another 3 miles in today to make up for yesterday.
Michelle, I just don't know how you do it, but I'm rooting for you, keep on truckin' as we used to say. A smaller bra is always a terrific feeling, because it usually means some of that illusive "back fat" has been banished to the underworld where all fat should be trapped!!! http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...olorsbear4.gif Good Evening... Hi SHEILA ~ Welcome to the thread ;) So glad you decided to join us... Hi MICHELLE ~ I couldn't work in the gardens today with the rains we have had, the yard and gardens are just too wet. I hope I will be able to soon. Everything is root bound in the flats and need to get into the garden & larger pots... soon I will get some pics to share. Hi KRISTI ~ How is your DD doing today? Glad her fever broke, but it sounds like you had quite a day. At least you got in 3 miles! Hey there LYNNE ~ Sure do hope all in going well in your little corner of the world :goodvibes Hope you all had a great day today! http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...sbearrack2.gif I went to Curves today and then when I got home finished laundry, swept and washed floors and ran the vacuum I never ran yesterday... I also got in 2 more miles today and am very tired tonight. It was a struggle to get in the two miles tonight, but I really wanted to get them in. See you all tomorrow ;) :sunny: SunnyD http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...sbearrack1.gif http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif MaY MiLeS: 33.0 http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...smle08/div.gif |
Hi guys!!! 4 miles for me today!! 50 for the month!!
Sunny - Sorry to hear you didn't get out in the garden today I know its your passion :) I walked outside today and our lawn is covered in white fluff it looks like it snowed lol but there must be a cottonwood tree nearby because the stuff is everywhere!! We just bought this house last september so I've never seen this stuff before lol. I am however going to buy some plants for my window boxes, any suggestions as to what would grow well in a window box? Sheila - Hey welcome to the group girl!! Just jump on in and remember to have fun with it!! Kristi - How was your day? Lynne - How bout you?? Well I hope this post finds you all well!! I will post again tomorrow! Sweet Dreams! Michelle |
http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...doflfe08/1.gif Good Rainy Morning Gals ~ It looks like another rainy day today, so no gardening for me again :( If it were just cloudy I could still go out, but it's raining... oh well... it is Spring ;) I just finished walking 2 miles and went to Curves this morning... so I think I am done with workouts for today - I feel plum tuckered out :p . For some reason I was up this morning at 4am! What's up with that??? I have gotten allot done already and have projects that need to be finished up today --- so at least I got a head start. Okay... now where's KRISTI, LYNNE these days :?: Missing you gals... Hello's to MICHELLE & SHEILA! Hope you ALL have an OP Day today! :sunny: SunnyD http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...prng08/div.gif http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif MaY MiLeS: 35.0 http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...prng08/div.gif |
http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...nsprng08/1.gif Oh... MICHELLE ~ Miniature Petunias's (mixed colors) would look wonderful in a window box with the variegated vines coming down. I'll have to get the name of the vines for you - I don't know off hand. Yep! That is the cottonwood tree shedding that white stuff... it isn't that ugly sn*w word  Have a great one! Me |
Welcome Sheila, We're all just a bunch of fun lovin' gals here. No challenges no pushing. Just lots of encouragment along the way. I know you may feel down about your lack of miles for this month, but you are in deed NO slacker. You're doing Curves faithfully and you're down 18 pounds!!! Slackers don't make those kinds of accomplishments. Now you go after that grill!!!
Hey Sunny, Sorry to hear about your rainy weather. It's finally been nice 3 days in a row here, but they're calling for more rain by Fri. It ended up my DD had a bad case of strep throat! The Dr. gave her zithromax (once a day for 5 days) she took just the one dose last night and felt well enough for school today. Good thing, becauseI got called in to work in the kitchen at school today!! There's an extra 50 bucks that'll show up in the mail a month from now after I've forgotten all about it. It's always such a nice surprise. You have been just rockin' the last two days. I'm so proud of you! I'm down for only 2 miles today, but I'm heading out now to get the rest of my veggie plants in. Hoe, hoe, hoe! Hi Michelle, My day has gone great. I love to work in the school kitchen. I don't think I'd want to do it all the time, but I sub usually once or twice a month and that often it stays fun. Big pats on the back to you!!! 50 miles already and you still have 12 days in this month. I bow to your greatness!!! I hope you're very proud of yourself. How are your little cuties doing? Well, I've talked pretty much about my whole day. I started reading Gr. Phil's book. I'm hoping to learn something about myself so I quit regaining every winter. I'm allready dissapointed though by the fact that he has a height to weight ratio chart right in the beginning. I'm 5'2" and the range it lists is 108 - 132 depending on your bone structure. I'm sorry, I'm a 40 y/o (well almost) stay at home mom who happens to have small bones and there is not one part of me that thinks I should weigh only 108 pounds!!!!! You know where the good Dr. can kiss me girls. But, I'm going to ignore that part and move on to the head stuff. I've been dieting for almost 30 yrs. Maybe I should write a book!!! hehe Have a great day you lovelies! Kristi MaY MiLeS : 37 |
