Hi Ladies,
Well, I got in a walk this morning at the park, and then did some on the treadmill when I got home. It is such a beautiful day, supposed to be in the 80's all week. Noelle, I am lots better. Those stinking allergies got me down for three weeks. I honestly didn't think it would ever stop. I was taking medication but that stuff made me tired and didn't feel like doing much at all. Went to the dr and got a cortisone shot for my shoulder and arm, seems to be working now. So I am all better and ready to get back in the game. WTG on getting the vet bills paid. When do you guys go to Bangkok? Hope you have a great time, which I know you will! How did your WI go? Faye, you will do fine with your walk Saturday. We will be thinking of you. I think that is great you are doing this for others. My Great-Aunt Molly was a survivor of breast cancer, and she was very proud of her scar, bless her heart. She passed away but from old age. Also, we lost my moms cousin Margaret to breast cancer a few years ago. Anyway, you go! Hope you ladies are having a great day! Take care. :) |
Monday, Monday
Hey ladies. I did great at my WI on Saturday, down by 3.4 lbs and got my first cheesy "I lost 5 lbs" bookmark! :dancer: Hehe, those little tokens for losing weight ARE cheesy but I love 'em anyway . I suprised myself really, because my home scale (that evil thang) was fluctuating up and down I didn't know what to expect. I'm glad though. I spent yesterday afternoon at my sister's house. We had a party celebrating 3 October b-days in our family. I ate a little too much but I did get a looong morning walk in before (5.2 miles) then a guilt-induced walk of 2 miles after the party. Trust me, that's not my usual mileage, that was an exception to the norm. My legs are talking to me now :tired: .
Faye, yes there is always next year and DH and I will be rootin' for them for sure. I'm sure you'll do well on your walk on Saturday. You can spend some more quality time w/your DD during the walk and your DH and little Thomas(?) can be waiting at the end to cheer for you both. If you can already walk 3 miles at a stretch this'll be a piece of cake (for lack of a better term) :hun: . You've come so far and I'm proud of you :grouphug:. One thing I've found during this weight loss journey is that you should never compare yourself to anyone else--either about exercise or about lbs lost. We come in all shapes and sizes and our progress will vary. The main thing is that we are all making progress! Hi Cristi. Allergies are a pain, sorry you had to suffer through it. Just ease back into the exercise and you'll be back in top form before you know it. My Bangkok trip is coming up fast. We'll be leaving on Nov. 8 and returning on the 18th. I can't wait :goodvibes: ! It's been 3 years since I've been there and I want to go shopping! We're also flying up further north to Chiang Mai where we can do more touring, like ride the elephant through a tribal village and visit all those gorgeous golden temples with the jade buddhas. It's such a beautiful place. I'm taking the digital camera so I should be able to get some pics posted when I get back. Well, I hope we see more action on this thread...Janine, Jenifer, Kristen...where are you gals? Come out, come out wherever you are :) Gotta run for now. Take care ladies! ___________________________ 10/20/03 Miles walked to date: 46 |
Hi ladies! I'm back for now! Wow I have missed all of you! I got my cyst on my jaw removed 2 weeks ago. So for two weeks I didn't go to weigh in. I gained 4.4.........Ughh! I'm a stress eater what can I say. As of last Tuesday I join the gym for a free 30 day trial. It has been a lot of fun b/c I go with three coworkers. Well I'm glad to be able to start posting here again. Not walking but at least going to the gym Monday thru Friday. I go walk my pup some nights. Take care!
Noelle what days do you weigh in??? This was me 1 year ago at 220 I think! |
Hi Jenifer! That's a great picture. You are very pretty! I still love your signature line quote, it's so true. I'm so happy you decided to return to us (geez do I sound desperate? :^: ) A 30 day free gym membership? Awesome! And you have others to work-out with. You're doing something great for yourself, keep it up. :)
I try to weigh-in on either Friday or Saturday mornings. I joined on a Saturday, and I set my week starting on Saturdays so I can use my flexpoints on the weekends, which is the hardest time for me. That way I have most of the weekday being an  to make up for the weekend splurges. Anyway, good job on getting back on track. Hope to see more of you here. Take care! |
Hey Noelle! Thanks! Here I am now (well two weeks prior to my gain this past weekend)! 192.6!!! Remember my hair cut? Well I love it and I will be keeping it short for a while. It's fun! I didn't start trying to lose till April and then in July my aunt passed away so the whole month of July I didn't focus. These pics really help me try and focus!

Wow Jenifer, that's great progress. You can really see the difference in your face, and what better way to show it off than with a new haircut! Woo-Hoo! So sassy looking (and I mean that in a good way :) )

Hi Ladies, Noelle, Faye, Jenifer, Holly, Janine and anyone I missed. :)
WELCOME BACK Jenifer! :balloons: So glad to see you found us! Hey, those are GREAT pictures, and WOW what a difference! I love the new do, you look beautiful! How is your puppy dog? I am getting ready to put up some photos, probably in a few weeks. We are having our annual Christmas picture taken next week and it takes about 3 weeks to get them back so I will have a decent recent photo. Haven't made much progress in my loss but I am getting back on track and by January first I will have a "during" picture, you know "before, during and after" I am hoping for a new do too. Still growing my hair out for Locks of Love. And today I mentioned I need and want a haircut bad and my DD said "No, mommy, your hair is so pretty you have to keep it long" how sweet. Well, I haven't gotten my walk in as of yet. But I do plan on doing the WATP video, a 1 mile walk on the treadmill and a bike ride. I have made a goal for the week to do a hour of exercise 5-6 days a week. So I am definitely getting back on track. Anyway, hope you all are having a wonderful day. Talk to you later. :flow2: |
Hi! Hi! Hi! I'm just getting back on the fitness track (actually ALL the tracks) after being sick for a little while. I want to start walking now so I can get as much in as possible before winter gets here. Then I will hit the walking videos.....love them.
I didnt walk today.....LOL.....great start huh. But my actual start date is tomorrow so Im good.....today is motivation day. :):):):):balloons: |
Welcome Aboard!
Hello Jaime, welcome aboard our little walking thread. I love to feel your motivational "spark". Congratulations on your weight loss progress to date, that's great! It's good you also have an alternative plan to walking outdoors during the winter. I think a few others here do the WATP tapes too. I'm an outdoorsy type walker as I've got great weather practially year round :flow2:. I see you have 2 little ones. I have a 4 year old as well, a boy. He'll be 5 in January  , where does the time go??? Anyway, glad to have you with us, hope to see more of you here. Let's get walking!
I need to close up shop soon and get my evening walk in. I'm shooting for my regular 3.5 miles :dancer:. Talk with you later ladies, take care. _____________________________ 10/21/03 Miles walked to date: 49.5 |
Thanks for the welcome Noelle!!! Wow I have a lot of walking to do to catch up to you.....impressive.
Yes I have two bundles of energy. Today is my son's seventh birthday and I was looking at his pictures from when he was a baby.....I can't believe its been 7 years since he came into my life. My birthday present to him (well to me actually) is to be more healthy and energized by his next birthday. To give him a mommy who isnt always to tired to walk to the park or play outside with him. He's getting older now and I really need to get my butt going so he doesnt think being a couch potato is what your supposed to do when you grow up. Ok well, I need to get him on the bus and get my butt exercising. I'm looking forward to it:) Take care!!!! :balloons: |
Good Morning Ladies!
A BIG WELCOME to you Jaime! :balloons: It's always nice to see new faces, glad to have ya. We have been having such nice weather the last few days and I have definitely been enjoying it while I can. I have a treadmill for when the bad weather hits and I too hit the videos. I love the WATP videos, got my first one, the 2 mile from Noelle (THANKS Noelle!) Also, have the 3-mile, working my way up to the rest. Once again WELCOME! I am off to an early start this morning with tons to do today! I thought I would check in early. I am going to the park later this morning to get in a walk. It has been in the 80's this week but going to end come Friday when the rain is supposed to move in, so back to the treadmill and videos, which is fine really. Hi Noelle, Jenifer, Janine and Faye. :) Hope everyone has a GREAT hump day. :sunny: Take care ladies. |
Thanks for the welcome Cristi!!!
Your lucky its so nice!!! Its always cold now and it kind of depresses me because I wasted the whole summer just about. I could have been walking out in that nice weather:( Oh well, Move on time I guess. I wasted this summer sitting on my butt feeling horrible about myself and I DO NOT plan to go back there:) Im going to do my walk video and then take my daughter to the park and walk around the lake. Shes four so its more of a light slow stop and start walk......lol......but its exercise all together....more then I get sitting my BEHIND on the couch. have a great day everyone!!!!! |
Hi Jaime! Welcome to you and hello to Jenifer whom I have never met before. I am the old codger in the group, 50 years young!
I walked 3.2 today so I know I am ready for Saturday. Noelle, I think Thomas is going to be "riding" with us during the race. If I get pooped maybe Thomas will share his stroller, she has one of those race kind. He is pretty independent though so he may be walking with us. This is the kid whose mom bought him an adorable Kermit the Frog Halloween costume last year after season to wear this year and HE decides he wants to be a skeleton. Now the thing is, he demanded that the costume has to be 2 pieces not one and he doesn't want his face painted he wants a mask. We have looked for him a costume for weeks and weeks and finally dd had enough and told him it was either a one piece costume and makeup on his face or he would have to be something else, period! He also refuses to let anyone pick out his clothes for him so we have to buy him rather mundane stuff so everything will coordinate with everything else. Is this kid, 12, 10 8, no he is 3 for heaven's sake! We are picking up our race stuff on Friday and having lunch together and I can't wait for T's reaction to me. I dyed my hair a reddish maroon. He is a beautiful redhead and so is his mom so we will see what he thinks! Should be a fun reaction! I am down another 3 lbs. I am losing about 5-7 a week again. I know it will slow down eventually, but I am going to take it while it comes!!! I am eating an 1800/410 cal and fat program and exercising and getting in proper water so I know that I am not doing anything but good to my body so I don't worry about the large weight loss every week. Cristi: I put Aunt Molly and Margaret on my list so they will be walking right along with me in spirit! I have 35 on my list and 11 who did not survive. That is a pretty hefty amount, but some of those may be those who passed years before we had such agressive ways to treat women. Well, I better go. I just came up to check on Friday movie times as we are going on a "date" night on Friday to see Runaway Jury. We may be married a long time (31 years next month), but we still do date nights at least twice a month. We even cuddle like teens in the movies though I refuse to sit in the nosebleed section of the theater like we used to (I grew up in the OLD style theaters where you could sit in the balcony!!!) The very first movie Jack and I went to as a couple was The Godfather and I was so naive, I didn't know what Sonny was doing to the bridesmaid against that bedroom door, Jack however said he was embarrassed (of course he didn't know I was clueless!) Have a great night girls! Faye |
Thanks for the welcome Faye. Your grandson sounds like a hoot...my daughters sorta the same way about her clothing she only wants to wear skirts and dresses but I usually win out in the end.....lol.
I did OK yesterday for my first day. I managed to do my Power 90 video and wow I can feel it today.....my muscles are howling. You should have seen me trying to get out of bed.....lol.....now that Im up they are warmed up a little and not as sore but still sore. I like the feeling at least I know my muscles are still under there somewhere. I just need to get rid of the fat layer. I didnt get my walk in.....I know whats up with that!! Actually I have a good excuse (no I wasnt watching General Hospital) I was up to my elbows in laundry and I had planned to take my daughter to the park but after running to the bank and grocery store I had to get home to meet my sons bus, then we had homework and it was his birthday so I took him to the movies and dinner. I had a slice of pizza for dinner which sorta blew my SBD but I kinda put myself in a bind and I was hungry. I still ate way below my carbs. Im still proud of myself:) BIG SMILE. Well Its freezing outside right now so I may bundle up and go for a walk or just hang out here and do my 3 mile WATP video. Take care!!!! Have a great Day!!!! |
I bet you all think I fell off the face of the earth! I have been trying to follow my proper eating habits and have fallen off the wagon a few times but weight wise I am still OK. sadly my treadmill has aquired a layer of dust. Between running one child to and from school 3 days a week, having to pick the other up from school, taking him to the Orthodontist then returning him back to school one day a week, shopping and just the same old house work I can't find the motovation to get on this treadmill! :dz: I also need to get my closet cleaned out! It is filled with clothes I can no longer wear because they are to big!:cb: I have been shopping for clothes that do fit and when I do shop I try and park farther away from the store and when I come across them I try and take stairs over the elevator. My problem is most times I am dragging my 4 year old so shopping is slow and he wants to push the buttons in the elevator or use the "moving stairs":?: When I can shop without him I try and pick up my pace when I walk as well but sometimes it's hard when you get behind slow walkers in the malls or stores.
Well, wish me luck over the upcoming holidays that I can at least hold my own.:goodvibes |
