Any field hockey players out there?
 

Hi everyone! I am a college student and am on my school's field hockey team. I am very worried about not being able to make it during preseason (I actually missed it this year due to joining the team late). I am a goalie, and want to increase my long-distance running and also become a faster sprinter, and be stronger overall. If any of you are field hockey players (or just an athlete in general), what are the best ways you have found to get into shape?

If you're at a college, don't your coaches have preseason workouts planned and a strength/speed training program? Maybe also work with your fitness center staff for ways to improve your endurance, strength and speed.
