Numb Feet - Elliptical

Is it normal? Am I doing it wrong? What's going on here!?!?!?

Ok ok, so its ONLY day two of using my NEW (to me, 50 buck Kijiji special!) Elliptical. I am horribly out of shape and the first day I made it 10 minutes on the elliptical and yesterday I made it to 15 minutes :woohoo:, but by the end my feet were just about completely numb. I nearly fell off the damn thing because I had no idea where my feet were lol (Kinda wish I could have seen myself! )

Anyone experience this and have any advice?

I like using the elliptical since it's really nice on my knees and gives my thighs some wicked burn that I haven't experienced in many many years :D

1. loosen your shoes and wear looser socks.
2. make sure you shift your foot position around.
3. usually these things take time to get used to but numbness sounds like your either in the same position too long or your constricting a nerve.
4. try in different shoes or if you hack it bare foot.
5. if all else fails seek out a podiatrist

Thanks slimmingsi I will try those things out! I do think I need some new workout shoes, maybe I will start there :)

I get this... but not until about 18-20 minutes. Go backwards for a bit helps. But usually I just go to a different machine. Since yours is a home machine, I'd get off and walk in place or pace around the room for a few minutes then get back on.

This is pretty common. If you can adjust the foot beds on the machine, tilt the toe ends upward slightly.

Trying pushing through your heels....

I can't adjust the footbeds, but I did try without shoes that I lasted longer this time before my feet went numb. I will try pushing more with my heels.
Thanks for the advice!
