When I lived up north for a few years, I didn't have access to a gym, but I did have access to the mountains, and I walked the trails every day, weather permitting. It was a challenge because of the terrain and uphills, but it was so much fun, and being surrounded by nature was very uplifting. I had a pedometer and aimed for 15,000 steps for my daily walk because I was otherwise very sedentary. It turned into about a 2 hour commitment each day, but I found it fun so the time didn't bother me. This was my trail, gosh I miss it! I definitely lost steadily during my walks!

Definitely walk. I'm still heavy enough that it's way more of a cardiovascular work out than a lot of things I do. If you google Mark's Daily apple and walking, he explains a lot more of the benefits than just weight loss.

Hello....I am an advid walker!! I do not own a car...I walk daily, 1 or 2 hours daily by doing errands and if the weather is very bad like an icy conditions, I do walk indoors and walk a few laspe around my living room!! Walking is the best and can do walking anywhere where you want. I LOVE IT!! In the Spring/Summer, I walk plenty of laspe in my driveway/yard...Put on your fave music and walk!!

I also want to say about walking, I walk and run. I have a good running shoe, Adidas boost. It is also by far the best walking shoe I have ever had.
I don't know if studies say running shoes also make good walking shoes. But it is like walking on a super comfortable cushy wonderfulness. And the added plus is if you do start running it has to covered also. So might want to look at a good running shoe as a walking shoe. |
