Fight Club
This is the part where I get pegged as the weird girl. That's ok : )
Last year I took some martial arts classes at my college and noticed that while I'm doing martial arts, it's like I don't feel the exercise, but when I stop I'm out of breath and my heart is racing. Especially when I'm sparring. A few weeks ago on one of my shifts at work with my friends I started goofing around with one of the guys and sparring with him, just to get points (not to do damage). We both really like it! It's become a weekly thing, and every week we just go nuts and attack each other. We're very careful to not actually hit each other, it's more fun when you get a point in, and you /could have/ but you don't get any bruises. I started wearing an activity tracker, and apparently the most crazy-active I am all day (even more than when I'm at the gym) is when I'm sparring... and it feels like cheating, because when your brain thinks you're "fighting," your adrenaline starts doing half the work for you. I'm just having fun. I'm probably going to start taking MA classes again after break. I'd totally recommend it. |
I really hate exercise that doesn't have a "point" to it. (Yes, all exercise has a point... that's not what I mean lol).

Haha yeah I love boxing/kickboxing because it is an extreme workout that doesn't feel like a workout to me, even though I am dripping in sweat and feeling the burn. Love it!
