My knee has been feeling pretty good - of course I haven't been doing anything to stress it. I have been doing exercises to strengthen it, but I haven't tried running. I'll try running on Thursday and I'm very worried that it will rebel on me.

I won't know until I try!

I did walk 6.75 miles yesterday and shopped, shopped, shopped today without incident, but running and walking are 2 different things!!!

Sorry Deva - I hope you are able to get back in the game soon - I miss your running stories!!

Did 6.5 miles last night. Cold to start but warmed up fast. I did a series of rolling hills in just under an hour. I need to really work on breaking in my orthodics so I can start running w/ them - I haven't done a very good job of this yet & I know I need to as my neuroma was bothering me last night & my doc wants me to break in my orthodics before he does anymore alcohol injections...

Everyone, let's stop shopping & start running!!

Made it 2.5 miles today in ZERO pain and then all of a sudden I was in agony.

The irony of this? I have always said that I don't really like running, but that I like the calories it burns. I realized today how much I have grown to love running and how much I missed it even in a short week...

I'm going to join the 3FC running thread for the first time ever. "And the townspeople rejoiced..." I've been running on a treadmill off and on for the last 2 months.

But tomorrow morning I will be running with a friend. She's be running for longer than me and I'm a little nervous. My endurance won't be up there and I have asthma and allergies that cause me to have severe congestion. It's funny, that while running I'm okay. But after about 20 minutes my chest feels tight. I might be able to run another 10 minutes, but then when I stop running, I'm coughing up phlegm for several minutes afterward. It's no fun.

Does anyone else run with Asthma? If so, do you have a running method that helps you to run longer.

I'm running again! I took it easy this week, since it was my first week back after 3+ weeks off. My first run was miserable, and I barely got a mile in before my legs turned to jello. Yesterday I had a fantastic 2 mile run. I felt great the entire time. My pace was amazing too. I left the pacing cues off and just ran at a pace that felt comfortable. While I was running I felt like I was going soooo slow. When I finished though, I discovered that I was going much faster than I thought I was. My average pace was over a minute/mile faster than it was before I got sick. I'm guessing it's because I didn't know I had really really high blood pressure, and now it's under control. I'm excited to see what I can do now as I continue to get my stamina back. Maybe a 10 minute mile is actually attainable for me. 2 months ago, my average pace was 15:55. 1 month ago, it was 14:11. Yesterday it was 12:58.

Welcome learning - just wanted to share that I take TWO puffs of my inhaler BEFORE [about 10 - 15 min] every run - helps SO much...I now run half marathons etc. without issue...have you tried that?

Very true Deva - we run through it all - posting a "motivational" pic that I love...so true...

Rainy 5.5 mile run last night. It was my first time running with my custom orthodics...though I felt like I was running faster [I was, sub 9 min miles], my foot felt very cramped & like it would really start to act up if I kept going so I'll have to talk to my foot doc at my appt. tomorrow night...

Trying soul cycle with a friend tonight for my first time, I'm very excited as I've heard really good things about it being an awesome workout!

Just checking in real quick. I haven't run since the end of last week because I went skiing and had a kind of epic fall and tore my medial collateral ligament. I've been resting for several days now and it's getting better, but I think that I won't be running again until next week.

I'm kind of going nuts.
