Thats a great idea. I am keeping track of my measurements. Yes I want to lose weight, but losing unwanted body fat is my main objective.

Thank you guys for all your support and information. I really appreciate it! :)

Hi,

I use the Joyce Vedral Fat Burning Workout, and it definitely works. I started out
with very light weights and worked my way up. I stopped at 15 lb weights so I
wouldn't get too bulky. Even though I'm still overwieght from over eating I know
it's burned lots of fat and reshaped my body. Also I'm alot healthier I get out and
go skiing with my family now and the like.

Smith Machine

We used the Smith Machine last night to do lunges, squats. Oh my gosh I feel it in my legs today. :) Even though we have been doing leg excercises this really used different muscles.

By the way, my husband gets Mens Health and they have a great pull out section on weight training exercises in the current issue.

Hi Back atcha Beachfeet!

I agree that weight training does a lot for fat burning because muscles burn fuel more efficiently and so it's a bonus effect! :D

Anne,

The Smith Machine is very good for form as well. I love to do dumbbell lunges but I never keep my form. And when doing BFL, it is a lot of sets so it is very hard to keep form!!! :dizzy:

Two thumbs up for the Smith Machine!

I just started using the Smith Machine a year ago after reading Muscle & Fitness Hers. There is no way I could do squats with freeweights (i.e. just a barbell). In fact you've just inspired me to do them tomorrow morning! Feel the burn! YEEAAH!!! Love it! :)

Well I survived another trip to the gym. We have been using the Free Runner by Stairmaster. That thing is a killer. I did 1.32 miles in 20 minutes (Fat Burning) workout. I am so happy that the Trainer recommended it to us. I was using the treadmill (too hard on my bad knee) and didn't get nearly as good a workout as I did today.

Did some free weights. Unfortunately I am going out of town tomorrow morning so won't be back in the gym till Wednesday night at the earliest. :(

I think the gym thing has finally kicked in. I am actually missing it when I don't go. I crave it. :)

Oh I just love Muscle and Fitness for Her. Great Magazine.

Good for you for missing the gym.

I have a brutal week in front of me and I'm trying to figure out the gym thing. I am going to check out the gym at school. I was there once before but it was crowded with grunting sweaty men half my age Intimidating. However, perhaps they'll be doing outdoorsy things now that the weather is great. I don't know if I will get home in time for my gym so I might have to bite the bullet and work out with the big boys tomorrow...

It is a nice habit to have.

Where is everyone? I've been out of town since Sunday and just got home last night. No gym facilities. :( at the hotel. So its back to a routine.
