Default rowing machine hurting my ankles

Hi everyone, I love the rowing machine at the gym and I do 15 mins on it. I always make sure the straps are fitted securely round my feet, however I notice when I get up afterwards my ankles really hurt. Any thoughts why this might be happening or what I can do differently?

The rowing machine is a great overall workout. Maybe your ankles hurt because you are coming in too close to the wheel and putting all of you weight, so to speak, on your ankles. How about trying to focus more on keeping your weight in the back of your legs and heels of your feet, and push out through the back of your legs and heels instead of pushing out through the balls of your feet.
