Novangel- hope you get that walk on Friday. I am in desperate need for shopping, my clothes are all too loose but I want to wait till the end of the month to lose more pounds hopefully
|
I just did level 1 and 3 back to back. Um.....wow...that's gonna hurt in the morning.
G' night, Ladies! |
Overslept & missed Zumba. I'm seeing that I can't keep up both exercise and eating clean. Too much fat & salt in the diet, too much take out. Need to clean out my kitchen and restart. That's for tomorrow. I'll play some Salsa music while I'm at it.
I need to buy some new stuff, too, but I also want to wait until I'm closer to 'goal'. The things I have now that may fit me better physically don't really fit who I feel I am now. But I'll make do and keep it movin. Have a good night... |
I hear ya on the salt, Exhale. I snap about twice a week and eat Mexican. I CAN'T resist. I'm a fan of Chinese too but I gave it up. I am not a binge eater and I will avoid everything; fast food, fries, pop, ice cream, chocolate, cake, pasta, donuts..whatever. I have even stopped going out to restaurants as much but I flat out refuse to give up Steak Fajitas. End of story. I just skip the cheese and sour cream.
Oh man now I'm starving... :/ |
Ok, my old signature showed up for some odd reason in a previous post. But, that post was from me.
Regarding food....I've not given up much, but I've found healthier alternatives. I still absolutely eat steak fajitas if I make them myself. I will splurge on sweets because I enjoy them. I have reined in on the serving sizes and ingredients. Some things I've not found an equivalent for like fried chicken that's baked, but is passable and not fattening. Fries, I love nathan's jumbo that you get in the supermarket. I bake them with spices on and they are delish. No getting around pastries, but I try. Like a apple topped with almond meal and then baked. I saw that on youtube so will try it this weekend. It was topped with Truwhip from Whole Foods. Of course I picked some up on my Whole Foods trip. I still eat pizza, if I make it. I get so much more than a little lonely slice or a ellios square. This summer I will be getting into making my own popsickles. Tonights workout was Les Mills Step. OMG...This workout was short, but really intense. I burned 490 calories for 30 minutes! I gotta say, I'm liking this program. Angelsmom, yes I stopped Body Revolution because starting with workout 3 there are lots of crazy moves and it continues on throughout the series. I'm 43 and my body doesn't move like that. I would've modified till it wasn't even remotely close to what Jill was doing...lol. Les Mills is more my type of workout. novangel, wow two Jill's in one night!? How'd you feel the next day? exhale, that must be a wonderful realization you came to.."The things I have now that may fit me better physically don't really fit who I feel I am now." That is an awesome statement! Oh and get to cleaning up that kitchen. It did wonders for me and I am super proud of my effort. I got rid of old storage bowls, bowls with no lids, lids with no bottoms and mainly put in lots of new lock n lock and rubbermaid containers. It looks to pretty now. Ok, I'm off to shower and then bed. It's raining really heavy here now and I love the sound of the rain. I don't even have the tv on...I'm just listening to the rain. Nite all! |
Philly, I'll let you know how I feel when the next day arrives. ;)
A great snack to consider is fresh strawberries dipped in Chobani strawberry greek yogurt. Super low calorie and VERY good! |
Morning all :coffee2:
Angelsmon, looking forward to a June shopping adventure. Baggy clothes are a problem, but kinda a nice problem to have :) Novangel, you are on a roll! Glad to see you moving forward with gusto. Strawberries with yogurt...mmmmm :) Hope you're feeling good this morning. PhillyGirl, happy you're liking your new routine. You do eat well, I have to start making lighter versions of what I've been buying outside. This is a lifestyle change, right? Have to say I am happily amazed by my change in how I'm seeing myself. Checking out a neighborhood Zumba intro class tonight. :carrot: Have a great day all :) |
Hello again to everyone!
After four weeks waiting for a broken toe to heal so I could actually wear my tennis shoes, I'm back! I think I'll stay away from 30DS for a few more days, but I'm going to be walking and trying to get back on track! I keep hovering just over the ten pounds lost mark..... I'm determined to break it this weekend. :) |
Hi eyre13, welcome back :)
Keeping fingers crossed for your 10-pound breakthrough ! Awesome :) |
Hello ladies :)
I haven't given up any food that I like, but I do have it in moderation. And if I splurge a little one day, than the next day I eat 500 less calories than normal. Philly- I've decided against BR too, I've started weight lifting followed by a 30 min cardio 4 times a week. I don't need to kill myself working out everyday. I was getting quite bored  Exhale- you are so right! Baggy clothes are a problem, but a nice problem :) Novangel- doing great, keep it up! Eyre- welcome back, you can do it :carrot: Ak- where are you Girly? :) Good luck everyone |
Eyre, I missed the post about your broken toe. How'd it happen? I hope not by exercising. I think it is wise to walk to get your toe used to some normalcy.
angelsmom, I felt like she was topping one crazy move after another. Some people find it as a challenge, but I didn't. Maybe I'll do it one day after I lose more weight and the moves aren't as uncomfortable. Otherwise its a waste of money. I don't pay for many programs, but I bought this one cause of the short workout platform. exhale, you've gone to zumba a couple of times now so you must like it. On another note, almond meal is really expensive apparently. I broke down and purchased it at the amish market. It was $3 cheaper than whole foods. Ok, enough procrastinating...back to work for me |
Philly, I really like zumba. :cp: Who Knew?
The studio offers latin dance as well, hope this place is a keeper. |
Philly girl - I didn't post. I came home from spring break and ran into the scale (of all things!) in the middle of the night. I thought I just bruised it, but when I tried to put on shoes, and then did 30DS I had to stop because it hurt just sitting there.
But its better now. I made it a whole week in tennis shoes so I think I'm good now. :) Thanks! Exhale - My roommate swears by Zumba, but I just can't get my body to be coordinated enough! lol Angel'smom - thanks! |
I went to bed feeling a bit sore expecting to wake up really sore but I'm fine today, I feel better in fact since now I'm a little less bloated from sweating so much yesterday. 40 minutes of Jill is something I could never fathom doing but now that I did it (it was very uncomfortable but - yay!) I plan to do it more often and mix up the levels so that my body doesn't get stuck. I took Mon and Tues days off to "reset" and now plan to work twice as hard as I did before but the trade-off will be that I may work out 5 days a week instead of 6. Tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous out so I'm definitely going out for a nice brisk walk.
About another month and I'm moving on to Ripped In 30. ;) Have a great day! |
I have my next 30 days fitness planned out. New York Sports Club has a $30 for 30 day special. They also have Zumba, plus other classes. I can take classes there, plus get in some cross training, + finish up the 7 classes I have left over on a gift card, and get in a yoga class weekly (that special has already paid for itself). The club is within walking distance (had past membership). I'm psyched.
I always felt that I was somehow failing if I didn't stick with a program, even if I no longer enjoyed it....go figure... I really like doing different things, and especially like having them nearby. I have a feeling we are all going to have a great 30 days :) |
