I went for my long run training this afternoon after eating way too much yesterday and today. I was tired, had a headache and was so unmotivated... But I headed outside and told myself : well at least run a bit. If you can't do it all, at least you try.

it ended up being an AWESOME RUN! I started slowly and increased after I reached the half... I was just feeling good. For the first time I told myself I wasn't that scared about the distance of the half marathon. It was my second time running a 13k in training, and I shed 1 minute from my last 13k 2 weeks ago. yay!

I only had to go out and try! ;)

Turbo, it's on May 20th, just a few weeks away :)

Congrats on the surprise great run!

Chickadee and Shana- awesome time on the races!!!! :)

My 8k went well sunday. Goal was under an hour and finished at 55:03 so I was very happy with that. I did start out too fast and paid for it at the end but still feel that it went pretty well. I'm starting Shaun T insanity today so have to find a way to fit in the running as I want to keep uping my mileage.

Sounds like everyone else is doing great!

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend!!
Got 4 in this morning felt strong.....off to errands and chores.

Great job runners!!!

I didn't get anything in over the weekend, worked too much and incredibly ridiculous crappy weather. But gearing up for beautiful weather this week. :)

Got a mile in today, wasn't able to run as well or as much as I had last week. Construction at the workplace is aggravating my asthma, will remember to use inhaler before I go out next time.

Thanks guys!! That photo is kind of funny - I was sprinting at the end, and all thoughts of form were out the window!

ncuneo: Holy smokes, 3:30am? That's dedication!!! I don't think I could run at that time of day no matter how badly I wanted something, lol. How did it go??

deva: I bet the cows love the look!! ;)

shananigans: Great time on your race!! And I'm impressed that you were so unfazed by the drizzle... I'm not good with bad conditions. I'm sorry to hear about your foot... I hope the time off will help it heal a bit, and that the cross-training does for you what you'd like.

wickedlady: Great job with the 10 miler, and good luck with the half in a few weeks!!!

Turbo: YAY on the awesome run, and on the time improvement! Days like those are so motivating.

beachlover: Congratulations on your time for your race! I know what you mean about wanting to keep the mileage up... I'm struggling a bit with how I'm going to do that over the next few weeks. I don't want to drop way back and be behind later though when I want to run another long(ish) race.

drake: I hope this week with the nice weather (and the inhaler) makes for more enjoyable running!

Well, I had wanted to do at least one 3 mile run at 5.5 mph before the end of the month, and I was pleased to do it tonight on the treadmill without too much trouble. I had to fight a bit at the end to keep going, but I still managed to up the speed to 6.0, 6.5 and then 7.0 mph over the last three minutes, so that seemed good. I have to stop running 3 weeks from now when I do the embryo transfer, and I've been wondering how I should approach the running in the meantime without a specific goal to work toward... but the answer presented itself tonight in the form of a 5K on May 19 that my husband's company is sponsoring. :) I'm going to register for it and focus the next 2.5 weeks on upping my speed, and hopefully target a time of 32 minutes or better (my first and only 5K in October was 36:29, so under 32 min would be a nice improvement!). I think I'm still going to try to get in longer runs these next two Saturdays though, just so I don't drop the mileage too much before being out of commission for 2 weeks.

Hi guys!

Had a great visit to the doctor's yesterday and have been cleared to run in 2 weeks - that's 2-4 weeks earlier then he originally planned because I'm doing so well. This means I'll have "only" taken 4 weeks off from running and hopefully won't set me back too much!

Keep it up everyone - I am living vicariously through you all!

Jen

cherrypie99....... sounds like you are healing up nicely! You will be back running in no time.

chickadee32 05-03-2012 01:22 AM

CherryPie, that's awesome! I'm so glad to hear it! Can't wait to have you back. :)
