Flabby Arms - Need Help Please.

  • Can anyone suggest arm exercises to get rid of flabby arms. I have the jingling/jello flab under my arm (from elbow to underarm). Regardless of how much weight I lose, I will always have the flabby arms. I'm so desperate to get rid of the flabby. I would appreciate hearing any success stories on how you all got rid of all of the arm flab.
  • There is no such thing as spot training. To get rid of the flab, you'll have to exercise (any exercise, it does not have to be just your arms). Your body uses fat from all over, so unfortunately, we can't just lose fat where we want to. That's why women hate it when they keep trying to lose fat in their thighs so they do lots of leg work, yet somehow their boobs are the first to go! You can tone your arms of course, but the flab won't vanish until its ready to go!
  • ^This is true. However, building some muscle and losing some fat will do wonders. The best exercises for arms and shoulders are big compound ones that use *all* the muscles: dumbbell presses, rows, lat pull downs, etc. Use heavy weight and do something like 3 sets of 10 reps 3 times per week.
  • Dips and kick backs are excellent to firm the tricep . If you continue to have flab after all of your weightloss then this is because it's loose skin and there isn't much you can do about loose skin other than surgery. Genetics and age play a large part in how well your skin snaps back after a larg weightloss...
  • Lots and lots of weight lifting. I have almost no flab on my arms and instead I have muscles

I've always carried weight in my arms- still do. But they look WAY better now with muscles underneath the bit of extra fat that I carry there.

Big compound exercises are definitely the way to go and will give you the most bang for your buck in terms of calories burned also.
  • Unfortunately this is where I carry a lot of my fat I have lost almost 50lbs and my arms are the same size even though I have built up muscle where I can do pushups up and dips! I'm hoping as I keep losing the fat will go, it's moving everywhere else but my arms! I'll keep you posted! But yeah unfortunately spot training doesn't work but working the arms muscles do make them look nicer, my arms don't look "as big" with my shoulder defininition in now
