Workout soundtrack
I usually listen to Pandora on my cell phone while I'm working out, and I usually love it. I have a Lady Gaga station that plays Katy Perry and Kesha and a bunch of other female pop singers... The downside is that I don't really have much control over the songs beyond skipping, so I'm trying to make a playlist.
So what kind of music do you listen to while you work out? Who's in your playlist? |
I only use my own playlists and I am all over the place. Here are some of the songs I listen to:
One Step Closer - Linkin Park Riot - Three Days Grace Black Horse & The Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall Come As You Are - Nirvana Runaway - Bon Jovi (great for running) Generation - Simple Plan Outlands - Tron Legacy OST I need fast and powerful songs for my workouts. I am always looking for more... |
My workout mix is all over the place too, but the mix of different types of music works well for me. I add and delete songs often, but my current playlist is below. I'm always looking for new stuff too!
josey, try: The Pretender and Everlong (the regular version, not the acoustic one) by Foo Fighters; Sex On Fire by Kings of Leon; Shake Me Down by Cage the Elephant (a good song that really builds in intensity); I Was A Teenage Anarchist by Against Me! (not exactly powerful, but fast and fun); Gasoline by The Airborne Toxic Event (same as previous); and Land of Confusion by Genesis (an oldie but a goodie!). Rolling In The Deep by Adele I Was A Teenage Anarchist by Against Me! I normally go for the iTunes top 100-type of music.. the dance-y stuff you'd hear in a club. Those beats get me running and cycling faster than the more musically-talented stuff like Adele (though I love her too!)

Also whenever these threads pop up I select a few from it ... Thanks to all the posters here ... I love the "Land of Confusion" perfect addition to my 80s/90s playlist ... also the Cage the Elephant song .... love it ... Other highlights from my 80s playlist: Ever Fallen in Love - Fine Young Cannibals We didn't start the Fire - Billy Joel Lessons in Love - Level 42 China in Your Hand - t'Pau Holding Out for a Hero - Bonnie Taylor |
When I work out, I tend to listen to some intense music to keep me going! On a regular day, not working out, I listen to more chill music so it's a total change of pace for me when I go work out and listen to music. On my playlist I always include:
Linkin Park (any song, really) Hollywood Undead (again, any song) Afrojack - Bangduck Bloody Beetroots - Warp 1.9 Afrojack - Pon Di Floor Designer Drugs Datamix mixtapes (1-9) Tiesto's ClubLife podcast (any of them - subscribe via iTunes) Lil Wayne's album - I am not a human Passion Pit 3OH!3 album "Want" I don't have an actual playlist, I usually just decide what I wanna listen to as I start, each time it's different or just on shuffle. Hope I gave you some good ideas though! :) |
