How Much Do You Need To Run To Lower Your Heart Disease Risk?

Thanks for posting this link. Heart disease runs in my family (my dad has it) and that was one of the main reasons I started running. I will definitely read this article.

I like the article even though I'm not a runner. It makes me feel better and happy with the fact that I get quite a bit of moderate exercise each week!! :carrot:

Wow. Who has 750 minutes to exercise every week? Lol, that's a lot of exercise! ;)

I do! That is for "relaxed walking" (as they say below the chart). I have a "walking desk" (which is really just a plank on a treadmill) and I am walking now! I walk a minimum of 2 hrs/day while I am surfing the web (it doubles as my exercise time!) -- on days I go into work. But I also work from home (on the computer) and while I don't normally walk when I am thinking intensely, for some types of work it's fine. There are days that I easily walk 5 or 6 hours! I am currently working on increasing the incline rather than the time.

I do this too! I don't walk as long as you, though. I generally walk for 1-2 hours, depending on my workload. I maintain a speed of 2.5 with an incline of 5.
