How to ease sore muscles?

I did a very intense class on Wednesday and I was very sore after, but today, I can hardly move. When I need to sit down, I fall into my seat and the muscles on my shoulders almost feel bruised. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to ease this? Thanks!

I recommend a warm shower/bath, stretching, or massage. I ease my own shoulders by massaging them. It's easier to have someone else do it for you if that's possible.

An epsom salts bath will help. And drink lots of water to flush out the lactic acid.

I think it just takes time :(
A warm bath might feel good though!

Thanks so much everyone! I"ll drink more water, take an epsom salt bath and give it good old fashioned time! ;)

If you have any essential oils such as lavendar, tea tree, or eucalyptus, these help as well along with relaxing you and making the bath smell lovely!
Also, time. After a day or 2 it will go down.
It's funny, I've been increasing my exercise over the last couple months. But, this week is the first week that I've had muscle soreness. I just added the 100 pushup, 200 squats and 200 crunches program. I feel you hurt!

It sounds crazy, but I always feel better after a short walk or jog. It loosens up the muscles so they don't hurt so much for a while.

I do have essential oils tdiprincess! I'll try that next time!

ImpalaHoarder, I did do a Zumba class today and it did help a bit...I've also noticed in the past that warming up the muscles and then stretching them out helps a bit.
