mkroyer, i love your posts. You have so much helpful information to share!
It's a huge race. 15000 for the 5k and 15000 for the half. AHH. I'm a wee bit intimidated! Normally my warm up is just a few minutes of quick walking. So perhaps I will just hop around, run in place etc. as I'm waiting in the corral. I will stretch too before I leave for the race. I think we're going to take the bus downtown which will be good, cause then I can stretch on the bus! And we'll have the stroller so I can throw all my crap in the basket before I leave to go be corralled. I am from up North, I can handle hanging around in the cool mornings without a hat or gloves etc. Yes, I will have to press start on my garmin. I forgot to press stop on it last time I ran so it threw off my stats :P No runners trots ;) Just farts. HA. I'll just let em' rip!! I'm trying for a 6:45-7:00 per kilometer pace. :) Thanks again for the advice!! Thighs be gone: When I run alone outside I only put one earbud in so I can hear traffic and people and I keep my volume down low. The only time I wear both is in the daylight, when I'm running on a path instead of a road, and when DH is behind me with the stroller. |
