Running @ The Beach
I have exerience with running on treadmills... cement... tracks... grass, etc. The beach/sand - not so much. Is anyone here familiar with it? Anything I should change when making the switch? I am going to visit a friend at her beach house this weekend. There is no gym around so I figured I would try something new & run on the beach. Wear the same shoes? Go barefoot? Any suggestions are appreciated.
As a side question: I also would like to pick up one of those arm bands for my phone (which doubles as my mp3 player). I see places to order them online but I doubt it'd get here by Fri AM. Any big chain places that sell them? Thanks ladies! :) |
I wonder that as well. I usually run on the asphalt road, against traffic. But I, too am going to the beach soon and was curious if I have to adjust anything before running on wet or dry sand. BTW, I find that since I have discovered outdoor running that treadmills just don't cut for me anymore, lol.

Thanks. I think the most useful tip from that article for myself was to use a separate pair of running shoes so I don't get sand in my other ones! I didn't even think of that. Thankfully I have an older pair of Nike's I can take.
