I'm finding that I can't go a single day without working out. Is there anything wrong with that? I don't think I'm doing crazy amounts at all. I'm usually done in 1 (semi-intense) hour and then later in the day, I may take my dog out for a walk, etc. I'm wondering if anyone out there feels like they have to work out 7 days a week. I feel like if I don't do it, I won't be able to stay on track with my eating (I'm a food addict). Maybe I've traded one addiction for another? Is there anything wrong with what I"m doing? I feel like I'm tired and sore but in a good way.
Me me!! I dont think there is anything wrong as long as you FEEL good. If you are getting sluggish, not sleeping well, etc, then you might want to take a rest day. I was going everyday for quite a spell but I was really close to injury after my last 10K race so I had to take some time of running and extra rest days. MADE ME CRABBY. I need to get my sweat on in the morning for my day to start off right. I do try to have my Saturday workout be a lighter one effort wise (we're talking cardio here right?)
I also do weight lifting 6x a week alt upper/lower body (though I had to take a few weeks break from lower body for my knees to feel 'not achy' again), and I do core work 6 days a week too
Anna,
I'm sure you do a lot more than I do. I do a mix of different cardio and I also do weights. The weights I pretty much do daily but just alternating different muscle groups. I used to do light weights with lots of reps, but now I do heavy weights at lower reps and I think that makes a big difference. Thanks for your response....I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.
I worked out this morning and now I"m already trying to think if maybe it would be ok for me to go again. Seems obsessive, but like I said, it's better than indulging in my food addiction.
Im the same way...I feel like if I dont workout everyday then I look like a troll the following day. Sad I know, but I WANT to SEE the results of my hardwork ASAP!
I know how you feel! If I don't exercise for a day I feel terrible! I make sure to try to get at least one quick run or a walk in if I can't make it to the gym. Before I started exercising I NEVER in a million years would think I would WANT to do it!.
Exercise is addicting, but it doesn't sound like you're on the path of a true exercise addict (they exercise literally ALL THE TIME and that isn't good for you). Just listen to your body and make sure to take a rest day if you truly need it.
