The last few days I've noticed that when I bend my knees or climb stairs my knees pop and crackle something Awful!!!
Well tonight my left knee is burning, like I feel it burning and its hot to touch... Any ideas? |

Try taking easy on your knees, low impact excersises like yoga, stretching, and floor cardio(feet in the air pretending to bike is an example) or weights can be used sitting down. You may have arthritis or your knee is producing excess gass in the cartlage and it's just being released. Ask a doctor, he will know best.

In general, popping knees isn't a big deal, unless it's hurting you or becomes a chronic thing.
The burning is more concerning. Did it start while you were doing some sort of exercise? If that's the case, it might just be some inflammation from the workout and I'd ice it down and see how it goes. If the burning continues, I'd see a Doctor. |
My knees do the crackle thing too...mostly my left knee. It hurts sometimes too...no burning though. I just keep plugging on. Hope it gets better for ya!

I have had a bone fragment, a meniscus tear and now a cyst all in the same knee if you can believe it. If it keeps up I would see an orthopedic doctor, if nothing shows on an x-ray they can do an MRI. I hate knee problems. I am going to possibly have this third surgery in September, the pain actually comes when I over do it with exercise or work.
You can try ice and rest, like others said. |
if it proceeds to get worse see a doctor ASAP. If it is a problem you want to catch it before you damage it more than it may be....So yeah, and remember this is a forum of people trying to lose weight, we can give our input and assumptions but we are not doctors ;)

Yeah, it doesn't sound good. I'd definately take a break from using it and try to see a doctor to be safe. If it's in the first 24 hours ice it like 20-30 minutes every few hours. If it's past 24 they say alternating ice and heat is best. I'll second the inflammation meds. I prefer Aleve over anything but Ibuprofen is great too. I hope you get feeling better! With it being warm like that, it doesn't sound normal. All my body parts pop and crack daily. But, pain associated with it and warmth is not good.
Please try to get it checked out and maybe put a pillow under your leg yu know the whole above the heart thing may help as well. |
I think I posted this on the other topic you started about the knee- but try RICE first. Rest (cut back a bit on activity), Ice (ice 3x a day for 20 mins each time), Compression (wrap the knee or put an ace bandage on it), and Elevation (elevate the knee). Also consider an antinflammatory.
Work on strengthening muscles around your knee- lift with activities that focus on strengthening the quads, hamstrings, calves, and core. I had really bad knee pain and popping after running last month and worked really hard to strengthen the knee with quad exercises. I iced it religiously after working out and then 3-4 more times throughout the day. I also took ibuprofen on occassion to also relieve the inflammation. Knee is back to normal now :) Minor pain can often be treated with home treatments. If it doesn't get better in a couple weeks, go see a PT or orthopedic surgeon. |
