Stiff muscles?
I've been diligent about stretching every day after running, but somehow my muscles feel even tighter than they did before. Several days a week I do taekwondo, and I always stretch out well beforehand. Before it would generally take me half an hour of light warm-ups and stretches before I felt like I was getting the full height on my kicks and didn't feel tight. Now I can easily spend an hour before class warming up and stretching before I feel loosened up. Once I'm warmed up, I have noticed an increase in my flexibility, but it's taking so much longer to get to that point of being adequately stretched. Tonight I never fully reached that point, in spite of the four hours I spent working out and stretching.
Any thoughts as to what is causing this? Do you ever reach a point of just being flexible/able to stretch without spending a ton of time warming up first? |
