Walking

I like to walk around town, pulling my sons in their little red wagon. I was wondering how good of a workout everyone might think it would be. I probably do at least 20 minutes of walking.

A podcast I've been listening to says walking rocks for fat loss. Plus your sons are getting a nice lesson about being outdoors.

Walking around town with your sons in tow is a great workout to start... eventually you may want to ramp up the intensity and/time of your walks by walking a bit faster or up some hillls.

How many calories you burn will depend on how fast your walking, what the weather is like, what the terrain is like, how good of shape your in, etc. so I couldn't really tell you how good of an exercise it is. I do however remember reading a study said that people who walk regularly keep weight off far better than those who don't.

Sounds like the odds are good. It's just so nice out today after weeks of cold weather. We will definitely be out and about!

I think you are getting a good work out pulling them in the wagon. Whenever I take my two girls out in their red wagon (they are 4 and 5) I can feel it in my muscles. They are almost two big to fit in the wagon, but I will continue to pull them in it until they are too heavy for me to pull, or until their legs don't fit anymore, lol. When I go for a walk without them, I can feel the difference in my muscles and my breathing, so I know I get a better work out with them.:)
