anyone using wii fit?
I have just got a wii fit plus and would like to know if it had helped anyone out there? i have been doing the step programme and have managed to do an hour and a half each day since monday. i would like to know if anyone else is using this and how effective it is- and specifically what games on it work best?

I really like the hula-hoop one. It makes me feel like I'm working on the love handles! =)

I just got the Wii Fit about 2 weeks ago. So far the stepping, running and boxing seem to be the best for working up a sweat. I'm down about 5 lbs, but I think most of that is from being very careful with what I am eating. I live in WI so right now I mostly use the Wii Fit for working out but once it gets nice again (so maybe June LOL) I'll take my cardio outdoors. But I really do like the yoga as well. I think while the Wii Fit may not be as good as being on the ellipical for an hour, it's better then sitting on the couch:carrot:

On Wii Fit Plus, I liked the free step, free bike ride and the free walk were best for longer sustained cardio. The strength and yoga was fun, but that doesn't get my heart rate moving as much.
But I recently changed games from "Wii Fit Plus" to "Walk it Out." I'm not sure about the game's burn so I wear a heart rate monitor when I do it so it tracks my burn more accurately. It's all low impact, obviously. I agree it isn't the same as other kinds of workouts but better than being on the couch! Every bit helps -- esp with snow bound winter people or late nite folks who need something doable at HOME. Earn a PALA with it! :) A. |
thanks for the replies- i am going to keep at it as it does burn calories and does feel better than sitting on couch!
