They may also run like danskos. Ever try any European style shoe on, that my help. I believe my Danskos are the same size. 38. I wear 7.5.

My husband recently bought a pair and loves them! He says they make his ankles feel stronger. He also thinks it feels more natural to wear them. Of course, it takes a little getting used to before you can slip your toes into teh correct spots without double-checking! I tried them out and like them, but I found them a little constricting. I love being barefoot or wearing flip flops, but can't do that when I run. I've personally found that at my current weight, running without decent shoes has been really unpleasant. I might try them myself at some point soon and will let you know what I think. However, my husband loves his and recommends them to everyone!

I didn't read through all the posts, so sorry if I repeat anyone. Runner's World did an article about minimalist shoes a couple months ago. One thing they said it to ease into them. If you are currently wearing thick cusioned shoes, you may want to buy something in between before going to the vibrams or other minimalist shoes. Or at least start out just walking in them a couple hours a week and gradually work up to running in them. Minimalist shoes are great for developing strength and flexibility in your feet, but jumping into them too soon could cause injury.

ETA- Found the article online http://www.runnersworld.com/article/...3691-0,00.html

Do they feel similar to flip flops on the bottom (meaning, the thinness of the flip flops)?

To me they feel thinner than flip flops. I would say that the thinness is more comparable to water shoes if you've ever tried those on

I think they are thicker than flimsy flip flops. I don't like flip flops. These have tread like tire, very thick but the inside has foot cup so your heel goes right in. They bend easily bit the sole is much better quality than a flip flop. Want to pay 100 dollars for flip flop material?

There are also various minimalist running shoes out there. I currently wear Inov-8s which are minimalist shoes although they look like normal shoes.

By the way, I've found the barefoot running forum at Runner's World to be really helpful in answering questions about minimalist shoes and barefoot running in general. The reviews helped me decide to go with the Bikilas, but the KSOs are really popular too. http://www.runnersworld.com/communit...refoot-running

I have been using mine outside more and more and WOW is there a difference! Definitely bending my knees more and running more on the balls of my feet, instead of my usual flat-footed slap. Also able to run longer outside becuase my feet don't hurt! It's incredible.

Next month I'm buying another pair, probably the KSO trek or something with just a tad more grip on the soles. The ground is always wet and covered with slugs and moss and I found myself slipping a bit.

I have the KSOs and while they are SUPER confortable, I think the KSO Treks or Bikilas would work just a bit better. I thought I'd use the Bikilas during the wet season and switch to the regular KSOs when it's dry.
