if you can get up early enough you should eat an apple or something, they say eating within 45 min of waking up helps kick your metabolism into gear in a good way. but, you don't want to eat anything too much. Try it on an empty stomach first and see how that makes you feel.
What about eating after you work out? Is it good to have something small like a half peanut butter sandwich or fruit, or just wait a while to eat? |

I was doing gels, or shot blocks, about 1/2 hour before. Then found I was crashing in the middle of my workout. I'm debating on eating more complex carbs with protein, or just eating the simple sugars right before I workout instead of 1/2 hour before. Your thoughts? I kind if have issues with eating all sugar (natural of course) in the gels and blocks, but needed the easily digested carbs. Will I get enough energy from complex carbs quickly instead? |
Any thoughts?

I have a poached egg, slice of cheese, or a protein drink.
