1 hr lunch gym break

So here's my challenge to myself.
I have a 1 hr lunch and a gym all of 2 blocks away that I have a membership to (goodlife)
if I walk over there and back, get changed etc Im thinking I'll have 30 - 35 minutes to get some exercise in.

I don't know if I'm better off doing the 20 minute weight circuit (of which I can add 10-15 min walking, eliptical etc) or do a straight 30-35 min cardio while Im there.

The thing is - I can do weights at home a lot easier than I can get in any cardio related work out. Sounds odd I know, but its the way it is currently. On evening trips to the gym I get in the weight circuit anyway and I 'try' to go at least 4 evenings a week but with a sick toddler and no sitter, that sometimes doesn't happen :(

Am I better off with weights or cardio?

If you can go every day I would alternate a day of weights and a day of cardio... IMO you're already getting your cardio by walking there, specially if you walk really fast... HTH :D

I like the alternate days idea as well, weight lifting is very important and walking there should be a good warm up. If you need a better warm up, walk briskly on the treadmill for about 10 min, that's what I do even if I walk there just to get my heart rate up.

THanks for the input ladies . . . I think I will end up alternating, once things settle down here I'll be able to go every lunch instead of just 2 or 3 times a week . . . Im looking forward to it!

I go to the gym on my lunch break, too. I LOVE IT! :exercise:
I try to do an every other day thing, too and it works out well for me.
