Getting back in it - without hurting myself

  • So, I will be 30 this year. My best fitness moment had to be 10 years ago. I was 20. I was counting calories. (Come to find out I also had a severe case of GERD that not only put me on a liquid diet for a few months, but burned my voicebox). I was doing Tae Bo - TWICE a freaking day. I was at my ultimate, lowest, healthiest weight - 108lbs. And maintaining.

I remember........ahhhhh the memories. Working out made me feel BETTER! I could "wake up". I could "breathe" (I am considered a 'severe' asthmatic).

Um. If I try Tae Bo now. My knees break. My back hates me. My whole body just begins to spit out expletives.

I have lost 4 pounds in a week doing WW. No real exercise. I need to get on it. I need to do something.

I have a crap work schedule that dictates any working out I do will be starting no earlier than 7pm. Unless I get up earlier - I get up at 615am.

I would like to have a burn of at least 500cals per day to start. Low impact.

    Suggestions? Tips? Help me????
  • How about one of the Walking Away the Pounds videos? A lot of people seem to be able to get started off pretty well with those.

I've got a couple that I'm going to start on after this cold goes away.
  • 500 calories a day seems like alot. I work out doing HIIT for 1 hour and I burn 300.
  • Am i being over-(what's the word) with 500 a day? Maybe my body at this size can't handle that kind of burn? IDK.

Some days I wish so desperately to be able to work out like a BL(Biggest Loser) contestant lol
  • Well maybe instead of focusing on calorie burn (as a number) you should focus on time exercising.
