Too much exercise?

I recently purchased the Power 90 In-Home Boot Camp from Amazon. There are 4 steps, 1&2 and 3&4, I am on the 1,2 which consists of day 1 circuit, day 2 cardio, etc. doing that 6 days with 1 day off. Each work out is about 40 minutes, including warm up, exercise, and cool-down. I am also walking 5 miles a day. The rest of the time I am usually just laying on the couch/doing house-hold activities since I got unemployed. Do you think doing both the video and the 5 miles is too much everyday? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Too much exercise is relative to each individual, only YOU can tell if it's too much... Do this schedule for a week and see how you feel... If you start feeling overly tired that you need to sleep all the time, this is a sure sign that you need to ease off till you get used to this workout schedule...

I personally think that you're doing A LOT which can be good, however, if you're spending a lot of time during the day laying on the couch, that can't be good. Maybe consider cutting back to 3 miles a day but incorporating a yoga or pilates workout, or tai chi... basically something that's calming but not something so sedentary as laying on the couch. Staying flexible will help with your hard core workouts as well.

Good luck with your healthy endeavors! You definitely have quite the stamina to walk 5 miles a day and do a hard core workout daily. :O)

Hey Brandon,

5 miles walking + 40 mins. of the video is alot, but only you can know if it's too much. The main thing to ask yourself is: "Is this something I can stick to?" Consistency is the key. You need to have a work out routine that you don't dread doing, and that you can stick to.

That's a pretty hard core routine to be doing daily, so as long as you keep your motivation up, you shouldn't have a problem reaching your goals!
