calorie counters on exercise equipment
Our fitness center, which I am visiting 30 minutes every other day regularly has really nice equpiment, maybe to nice. They have calorie counters on them, which makes me very depressed. when I'm on the treadmill for 30 min. and am sweating and my legs hurt and my heart rate is 155...and I have only burned 180 calories according to the machine I feel so depressed. How accurate do you think these counters are? DO I need to be doing something differant?

If you can afford it you should spend roughly around $100 and get a Heart Rate Monitor. I think the ones with a chest strap are most accurate. The machines can either overestimate or even underestimate. I notice that wheen I compare my HRM to the machines and depending on how hard I've worked it's gone either way. I have a Polar F6 and absolutely love it. You input your gender, age, height, weight, resting hear rate. Mine was the best investment I've made yet. Hope this is helpful.
