Winter outdoor exercise and my lungs

Hello all!

I had an incredible workout outside again today. It's amazing what a difference snow makes. It's beautiful scenery and really ups the difficulty! I did HIIT by running up my hill in about a foot of snow while more snow was coming down. Unfortunately I was too involved in what I was doing to notice how beautiful it was! :D Man it kicks my butt. It was all in the legs, but it was so hard my arms were shaking when I was finished like I'd just done a bunch of push ups.

My question though is about my lungs. I get so phlegmy when I run hard outside in winter. When I did this a few weeks ago I ended up getting sick. I thought it was a coincidence but here I sit an hour post workout and I'm still clearing my throat and hoping I don't get sick.

Does anyone else have this problem? It doesn't happen inside.

I get very phlegmy too when running outside, but it goes away within a couple of hours... I never get sick though...

This is 24 hours later, are you sick? Let us know :D

I get pretty congested running outside as well, but like Ilene it clears pretty quickly.

How are you feeling today?

Just fine today. :D Thanks! I guess the first time really was just coincidence.

I hate that feeling, but I love being outdoors.

:cp: ... Yes, it's not a nice feeling, but I love being outdoors... sometimes, when no one is looking, I hope, I even spit :o
