I'm sore...do I keep going?
Hello everyone! I have started walking more and more the last couple of weeks, but I've decided I need to exercise, in some form, everyday! So, yesterday, I did the 1-mile Walk Away The Pounds (15 minute mile) twice. And, while I got a GREAT workout, my calves are sooooo sore today!
My question is, do I keep working out and work through the pain, or do I take a break until my legs feel better? I've heard so many conflicting bits of info over the years on this, I'm really not sure what the right way to go is! Thanks so much!!! Michelle C (A newbie with no signature yet). :D |
I've heard conflicting matters on the issue also. In my opinion (what works for me), is if its severe, take a day off. But do it the following day after rest. My shoulders have been aching for a week i just took my normal weekly breaks and continued on and today i feel good, they dont hurt.
Have you tried flexibility training? It generally lenthens muscles like calves and hamstrings, back. I've also heard drinking lots of water will help shorten the pain. |
I have heard this both ways, to me its a personal choice. I work out usually 6 days a week, how intensely I go at it can depend on how sore I am, however I find working out, usually helps me with the soreness.
