Onset of fatigue
I have been working out pretty regularly since the beginning of the year. Six weeks ago I started running and it's been going pretty well so far. However, this week I've started experiencing fatigue during the run which leaves me unable to hit my goals, let alone even do HALF of what I was capable of doing just a few days ago.
On Sunday evening, I got a migraine which kept me up most of the night- I think I got about 3 hrs of sleep. :coffee: Not a fun Monday. Anyway, I could barely last 10 minutes into my usual run/walk workout yesterday, so I threw in the towel at 20 minutes and blamed it on the lack of sleep/tired body. Got lots of sleep last night (around 9 hours) and felt 100% better today...until I went to work out again. The run/walk was better than yesterday, but I still couldn't maintain my usual ability to run for longer times. While my legs do not feel tired, it seems as though the rest of my body feels fatigued - unable to control my breathing, generally just feeling tired in my upper body. Basically, it feels like it did when I first started running....6 weeks ago. Just a few days ago, I was able to go much farther, much faster, and much longer. Now I feel like a wimp!
Is this normal? Has anyone experienced this sort of setback? I'm thinking another good night's sleep will hopefully ward off the rest of this fatigue feeling.
